Australia :
Josh Tols threw two scoreless innings for Melbourne yesterday in their 4-3 victory over Canberra. The lefty reliever allowed just one hit and one walk. Catcher Chris Burke homered for Melbourne and also walked in three plate appearances.
Former Phillie Drew Anderson recorded his fourth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning striking out two batters ( 1 BB ).
Cornelius Randolph doubled in the sixth inning to knock in the game’s only run for Adelaide in their victory over Brisbane. The Giants were limited to five hits in the contest by veteran hurler Tim Atherton. Rixon Wingrove continues to swing the bat well, he had one of the five knocks and is hitting .368 in Adelaide’s first seven games.
Outside of Australia the only other Winter League action occurred in Venezuela ... no Phillies participated in the two games played there.
