Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues from games played on 1/25. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League : Championship Series :
Toros del Este 3 (1-2) Leones del Escogido 2 (2-1) - Bryan De La Cruz (RF) hit a solo home run and walked three times for the Toros. RHP Hector Neris threw a scoreless inning (2 BB, 1 K) for the Leones.
Venezuela Winter League : Round Robin Playoff Tournament :
Cardenales de Lara 3 (9-7) Aguilas del Zulia 1 (7-9) - Simon Muzziotti (RF) went 2 for 5 (single & double) for the Aguilas.
Navegantes del Magallanes 3 (10-6) Bravos de Margarita 2 (4-12)
Mexican Pacific League : Championship Series :
Charros de Jalisco 8 (4-0) Tomateros de Culiacán 6 (0-4) - the Charros swept the series and won their second consecutive league championship, the fourth in their history! Jalisco will now host the 2026 Caribbean Series (2/1 thru 2/7) - Culiacan will also participate in the Series along with the champions from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and a representative team from Panama.
Australian Baseball League :
Devin Saltiban was named the Championship Series MVP in Adelaide’s victory over Sydney.
From here on I will fold the Winter League Updates as a sub-topic in my training camp reports. We were scheduled to fly to Clearwater today but a bout with Covid and then the snowstorm altered those plans - now scheduled to get there next Monday night 2/2/26 - hopefully that becomes reality.
