Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues from games played on 1/5. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League : Round Robin Playoff Tournament : Bryan De La Cruz(RF) went 2 for 3 (singles) with two walks a and run scored for the Toros del Este (6-2) in a 3-1 win over the Leones del Escogido (6-2). Yairo Munoz (2B) was 2 for 3 (singles) with a walk for the Toros. Right handed pitchers Hector Neris (1 K) and Aneurys Zabala (1 H, 2 K’s) each threw a scoreless inning in relief for the Leones.
Mexican Winter League :
Charros de Jalisco 12 (2-2) Naranjeros de Hermosillo 3 (2-2)
Águilas de Mexical 4 (4-0) Yaquis de Obregón 1 (0-4) - Aguilas win the series
Cañeros de Los Mochis 8 (3-1) Tomateros de Culiacán 4 (1-3) - Joey Meneses (1B) was 2 for 4 (singles) with an RBI for the Tomateros.
Jaguares de Nayarit 6 (1-3) Algodoneros de Guasave 2 (3-1) - Jorge Flores (SS) went 1 for 4 (double) with an RBI for the Algodoneros
Venezuela Winter League : Round Robin Playoff Tournament : games postponed for other reasons
Puerto Rico Winter League : League Playoffs : travel day - no games.
