Reading wins Eastern League Championship in two game series sweep !
How they scored :
After a leadoff walk to Peyton Graham to start the game Zyhir Hope hit a two run home run for Erie.
Dante Nori singled to lead off the bottom of the fourth and scored on a double down the left field line by Aidan Miller. Raylin Heredia singled sending Miller to third base. Miller then scored on a wild pitch with Heredia advancing to second base.
A single, walk and two out throwing error by third baseman Aidan Miller scored a run for Erie in the fifth inning.
Dante Nori, Aidan Miller and Raylin Heredia each singled to load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Carson DeMartini walked on four pitches to force in a run. Caleb Ricketts hit a grand slam home run! Pedro Leon singled, Bryson Ware walked. Bryan Rincon singled to score Leon.
In the bottom of the seventh Carson DeMartini walked, stole second and scored on a double off the right field wall by Aroon Escobar.
Austin Murr walked in the eighth inning, Dante Nori singled. Aidan Miller walked to load the bases. Carson DeMartini hit a grand slam home run!!
EJ Esposito homered for Erie in the ninth inning.

Caleb Ricketts had two hits (single & grand slam HR) with four RBIs.Carson DeMartini hit a grand slam home run, walked twice, stole a base, scored a run and had five RBIs. Aroon Escobar had two hits (single & double)and posted an RBI.

Championship History - The Fightin Phils won their first outright Eastern League Championship since the 1995 season, 31 years ago. That Eastern League title came on Sept. 13, 1995, which was 11,332 days ago. Zero players on the Fightin Phils active championship roster were born the last time Reading won an outright Eastern League Title. The R-Phils then split an Eastern League Championship in 2001 with New Britan, after the series was cancelled due to the Sept. 11 attacks. Prior to 1995, Reading captured two previous titles as a Phillies affiliate in 1973 and ‘68. Before that the 1957 Reading Indians won the Eastern League title. So, the 2026 Fightin Phils have won the franchise’s fourth outright Eastern League Title in the 60 seasons of Phillies affiliation!
