Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues from games played on 1/7 and 1/8 (Australia). Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League : Round Robin Playoff Tournament :
Leones del Escogido 5 (7-2) Gigantes del Cibao 0 (0-9) - Johan Rojas went 2 for 4 (singles) for the Gigantes. RHP Aneurys Zabala pitched a perfect inning for the Leones.
Toros del Este 17 (7-2) Aguilas Cibaenas 1 (4-5) - Rafael Lantigua (SS) went 3 for 4 (three doubles) with two runs scored and Bryan De La Cruz (RF) walked twice and scored a run in four plate appearances for the Toros. De La Cruz has been named the league’s MVP Award winner!
Mexican Winter League : playoffs - no games scheduled - travel day
Venezuela Winter League : Round Robin Playoff Tournament :
Caribes de Anzoategui 8 (1-1) Navegantes del Magallanes 3 (0-2) - Odubel Herrera had a pinch hit single for the Navegantes.
Bravos de Margarita 3 (1-0) Aguilas del Zulia 1 (1-1) - RHP Luis Pacheco pitched a perfect inning (1 K) for the Bravos.
Puerto Rico Winter League : League Playoffs :
Criollos de Caguas 4 (2-2) Cangrejeros de Santurce 2 (2-2) - RHP Andrew Bakerpitched 1.1 innings (1 unearned R, 2 H) for Santurce. RHP Yacksel Rios earned the save with a perfect inning (1 K) for Caguas to tie the series at two wins each.
Leones de Ponce 3 (2-2) Gigantes de Carolina 2 (2-2) - Dalton Guthrie (CF) went 2 for 5 (singles) with two RBIs and a run scored for the Leones.
Australian Baseball League :
Adelaide Giants 15 (15-16) Brisbane Bandits 2 (13-19) - Jose Colmenares (SS) went 5 for 6 (single, double, three HR’s) with five RBIs and three runs scored, Devin Saltiban (CF) was 2 for 5 (singles) with a walk, RBI and two runs scored, Mitchell Edwards (C) 3 for 5 (two singles & double) with a walk, RBI and two runs scored, Raylin Heredia (RF) 2 for 5 (single & HR) with two RBIs, a HBP and two runs scored, Jordan McArdle (DH) 2 for 6 (double & HR) with four RBIs, Robbie Glendinning (3B) 3 for 5 (two singles & HR) with a walk, RBI and two runs scored, Alirio Ferrebus (1B) 1 for 6 (single) with a run scored and Nick Ward (2B) 1 for 4 (HR) with a walk, RBI and two runs scored for the Giants. RHP Danyony Pulido pitched a perfect inning (2 K’s - 18 pitches - 12 strikes). Rixon Wingrove (1B) was 2 for 5 (single & HR) for Brisbane with a run scored and RBI.
Colombian Winter League :
Nolan Beltran (SS) was 1 for 1 (double) for the Tigers de Cartegena in a 11-2 win over the Toros de Sincelejo. LHP Jordi Martinez pitched a scoreless inning (1 BB) for the Caimanes de Barranquilla in a 7-3 loss to the Vaqueros de Monteria.
