This Phillies off-season I will continue the series  “Annual Phillies Minor League Player Notes” with profiles presented in groupings by defensive positions for the players who were still part of the minor league player development program at season’s end. The notes will reflect statistics, my thoughts on each player and input from them and others as I have it. They are presented in order by position and then alphabet in groupings of players per article. Here’s Part Six of the pitchers highlighting the following :

Alexander De Los Santos

Ryan Dromboski

Reese Dutton

Jake Eddington

Jaydenn Estanista

RH  Alexander De Los Santos - 19 yrs old (20 on 8/23/26)  - signed international free agent 1/15/23 - Santo Domingo, DR

2025 Stats :  was brought stateside on 5/1 and assigned to the FCL Phillies - appeared in two games (4.2 IP) before being placed on the IL 5/15 and staying there the balance of the year working with the rehab team at the complex. He finished up his rehab stint with two side bullpens in August and five live BP sessions. Had a strong 2024 season in the DSL appearing in 11 games (9 starts) totaling 38 IP and posting a 2.13 ERA with 38 K’s and 19 walks.

2025 Notes :  fastball in the 91 to 94 mph range, touches 96, change-up and slider. Has compact delivery - slightly above 3/4 arm slot, good action on breaking pitches. Given that he threw multiple live BP’s to finish 2025 at the complex he should be ready to go in 2026 Spring Training Camp.

RH Ryan Dromboski - 22 years old (23 on 6/1/26) - signed as un-drafted free agent - 8/1/24 - University of Pennsylvania

2025 Stats :  began the year with the Clearwater Threshers - made 17 appearances (nine starts) posting a strong 2.63 ERA in 54.2 IP with 53 K’s and 19 walks. Had an outstanding first two months of the season making ten appearances (35.1 IP) recording a 1.78 ERA with 34 K’s and 7 walks. Was promoted to Jersey Shore on 8/6 and appeared in 5 games (four starts) posting a 2.81 ERA in 25.2 IP with 23 K’s and 5 walks. Overall had a 9-6 record with a 2.69 ERA in 22 games (13 starts) totaling 80.1 IP with 76 K’s and 24 walks - 66 % strike throwing rate, 3.17 K/BB, .230 BAA and a 1.13 WHIP. Very good initial pro season.

2025 Notes :   Ryan spent three years pitching for the Penn Quakers. During his sophomore year in 2023 he was recognized as the Ivy League Pitcher of the Year and earned a first-team All-Ivy selection. He was pitching for Hyannis in the Cape Code Summer League when he signed on with the Phillies. Ryan attended North Burlington County High School in Columbus, NJ where he played both baseball and soccer. He’s a very pleasant and energetic young man, the excitement and enthusiasm to become a Phillie was evident in his voice when we first spoke shortly after he first arrived at the Clearwater Complex. His fastball is generally in the 90-94 mph range, also throws a sinker, slider, curve, change up and cutter. He has shown that he will throw each pitch in any count with the slider as his go to pitch. Knows how to pitch and get batters out.

Ryan’s 2025 season reflections :   “This past season was my first and my goal was to build myself a strong base to continue to expand upon as my career goes on. I am very happy with how I progressed and the season’s result because it reflected the work I put in prior to the season. My offseason approach is to attack the weight room and better my diet to gain healthy weight, improve overall strength, and increase mobility/flexibility. For next season, I hope to start in Jersey Shore after spring training, but nothing is guaranteed. So, I plan to just keep working hard on improving to put myself in a position to start there.”

RH Reese Dutton  - 24 years old (25 on 5/15/26) - signed as an un-drafted free agent - 7/26/24 - University of Kansas

2025 Stats :  began the year with the Clearwater Threshers - appeared in 11 games (four starts) pitching 39.2 innings with a 3.86 ERA recording 39 K’s and 11 walks. Was promoted to Jersey Shore on 6/5 where he made 13 appearances (ten starts) amassing 65.1 IP posting a 4.13 ERA with 45 K’s and 29 walks. Overall he pitched 105 innings in his first full pro season with a 4.03 ERA - 84 K’s, 40 walks. Best month was July when he had a 2.53 ERA in 4 games (21.1 IP).

2025 Notes :  is an innings eater and strike thrower who can pitch as either a starter or bulk reliever - went five or more innings in eleven of his twenty four outings and four or four plus frames in another six games. He is a sinker ball pitcher (88 to 91 mph - touches 93) with a slider, change-up, cutter and curve. Uses his pitch-ability to get outs. Reese is from Kenosha, Wisconsin - originally attended Heartland Community College and then USC Upstate - transferred to Kansas for his final collegiate season where he led the team in innings pitched.

RH Jake Eddington  - 24 years old (25 on 4/26/26) - drafted in 7th round of the 2023 draft from Missouri State

2025 Stats :  began the year with Clearwater and pitched in 13 games (27.2 IP) posting a 5.20 ERA with 25 K’s and 17 walks.  Was promoted to Jersey Shore on 6/5 - appeared in 19 games (29 IP) recording a 4.66 ERA with 31 K’s and 22 walks. Overall in 32 games totaled 56.2 IP. Jake had finished up 2024 with Jersey Shore appearing in five games after an IL stint and time with the FCL Phillies and Clearwater.

2025 Notes :  features a four seam fastball (92-95 mph - touches 96), slider, change-up, curve and cutter. Generally pitches out of the bullpen as a multi-inning reliever - primarily two innings - on occasion three innings (five times). Has struggled finding consistency throwing strikes and commanding the zone. Is from Missouri where he was a two time all-state selection in baseball, initially went to the University of Alabama before transferring to Missouri State after two years. Was a starter in college - very nice young man who always says hello every time I see him - will likely compete for a Reading roster spot in 2026 spring camp.

Jake’s 2025 season reflections :  “Hey Steve hope you’re doing well. This past season I learned the most by focusing on what’s important now which then allowed me to be present more often and more consistent. This off season I want to continue to focus on what’s important in that moment, throwing, lifting, mobility, etc. Conviction in that will take care of everything else.”

RH Jaydenn Estanista  - 24 years old (25 on 10/3/26) - signed as international free agent 11/8/19 - Willemstad, Curaçao

2025 Stats :  began the year with Jersey Shore - 21 appearances (22.2 IP) with a 3.57 ERA - 23 K’s and 13 walks - had a sparkling month of April - 1.13 ERA in 8 appearances (8 IP). He was promoted to Reading on 7/4 - appeared in 19 games (22 IP) with a 6.14 ERA - 24 K’s, 17 BB. Pitched for the Netherlands in the European Championship Tournament in September appearing in four games (4.2 IP) without allowing a run, he struck out nine batters, walked just one and yielded only one hit. Opposing hitters had a minuscule .067 batting average against him. Jaydenn pitched the final two innings in the championship game against Italy and struck out five batters earning the save in a 6-5 win. Is now a member of the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League.

2025 Notes :  fast ball range of 93 to 96 mph - touches 98 - features a four seamer, slider, splitter, cutter and curve.  He is one of my favorite personalities in the organization - always welcoming and courteous - has a big league arm and when he’s in the zone does very well. He is eligible for the Rule 5 Draft in December. Tall and slender build, athletic and strong. Is very proud of his heritage - his boyhood idol is fellow Curacaoan Kenley Jansen and is who he tries to emulate. Next spring could bump up a notch to Lehigh Valley and be a candidate for the very important “option shuttle” from AAA to the show during the season.

Pitching Coordinator Travis Hergert : “Big fastball with a high release. Splitter is a developing pitch. Needs to sharpen command overall.”

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
