John Hicks has agreed to a minor league contract with the Phillies. Hicks is 33 years old - he played in the Cubs organization last season for AAA level Iowa and hit 25 doubles, 2 triples and 20 home runs with 56 RBIs in 95 games ( 387 PA’s ). He was drafted in the 4th round of the 2011 draft by the Seattle Mariners from the University of Virginia.
Hicks has played in the Mariners, Twins, Tigers, Diamondbacks, Rangers and Cubs organizations. He’s played in 264 major league games from 2015 to 2021 amassing 845 AB’s and has 32 big league home runs and 97 RBIs.
He will likely be a non-roster invite to big league spring training camp.
