Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues or off-season tournaments.


Premiere 12 Tournament :


11/21/24 action :


Team USA (0-2) lost 8-2 to Team Chinese Taipei (1-1). Center fielder Justin Crawford was 1 for 3 (single) with an RBI for Team USA.


Australian Baseball League :


11/21/24 action :


The Phillies contingent plays for the Adelaide Giants.


Adelaide (1-4) lost to Canberra (3-2) by a 2-1 score.  RHP Estibenzon Jimenez pitched very well in relief (3 IP, 1 unearned R, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 43 pitches - 31 strikes) following starter Lachlan Wells (free agent) who went six innings (1 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s - 92 pitches - 63 strikes).  Shortstop Trent Farquhar was 1 for 3 with an RBI single, catcher Luis Caicuto walked once in three plate appearances.  Adelaide was held to just five hits - Nikau Pouaka-Grego played third base and former Phillies minor leaguers Nick Ward (DH) and Rixon Wingrove (1B) also played in the game for Adelaide.


Dominican Winter League :


11/21/24 - scheduled off day


Mexican Winter League :


11/21/24 action :


Former Phillies RHP Robert Stock continued to excel as a starter for Naranjeros de Hermosillo.  He pitched seven scoreless innings (5 H, 1 BB, 7 K’s - 103 pitches - 67 strikes) in a 4-0 victory over Charros de Jalisco.  For the winter season Stock has a 1.61 ERA in 8 starts (50.1 IP) and a 6-2 record - the 35 year old is a free agent who’s pitched in the major leagues, the KBO (Korea), Mexican winter and summer leagues and for various minor league affiliates - he pitched last summer for Dos Laredos in the Mexican League making 19 starts, posting a 9-4 record and a 3.38 ERA in 98.2 IP.


Puerto Rico Winter League :


11/21/24 action :


Former Phillies minor league RHP Julian Garcia pitched five scoreless innings (4 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s for Senadoros De San Juan in a 2-1 loss to Criollos De Caguas.


Venezuela Winter League :


11/21/24 action :


Former Phillies second baseman Cesar Hernandez was 2 for 3 (singles) with an RBI and walk for Tiburones de La Guaira in a 7-0 win against Navegantes del MagallanesFormer Phillies minor league outfielder Carlos Tocci went 4 for 5 (single and three doubles) with three RBIs and two runs scored for Leones del Caracas in a 10-4 win against Tigres de Aragua.


Other Notes :


Former Phillies minor league first baseman Joey Meneses has signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets which includes an invitation to big league spring training camp.
