Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 11/23. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
Johan Rojas (CF) went 4 for 5 (three singles & double) with two RBIs and three runs scored for the Gigantes del Cibao in a 14-6 win over the Toros del Este. Felix Reyes (CF) went 1 for 4 with a two run home run and Rafael Lantigua (SS) 2 for 2 (single and two run home run) for the Toros. Jose Rodriguez (3B) was 0 for 3 with a sacrifice fly RBI for the Aguilas Cibaenas in a 4-1 win over the Leones del Escogido. Cal Stevenson (RF) was 1 for 4 (single) with a walk for the Tigres del Licey in a 5-4 loss to the Estrellas Orientales.
Mexican Winter League :
Joey Meneses (1B) went 2 for 3 (double & triple) with two RBIs for the Tomateros de Culiacán in a 4-2 win over the Águilas de Mexicali. RHP Victor Vargas pitched four innings (4 R - 1 earned, 5 H, 3 BB, 3 K’s) for the Algodoneros de Guasave in a 4-2 loss to the Charros de Jalisco. Nick Williams (RF) went 1 for 4 (solo HR) for the Cañeros de Los Mochis in a 7-5 win over the Jaguares de Nayarit. RHP Orlando Gonzalez pitched two innings (0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 K - 33 pitches - 18 strikes) for the Naranjeros de Hermosillo in a 4-3 loss to the Tucson Baseball Team.
Venezuela Winter League :
Aldrem Corredor (1B) went 2 for 5 (single & double) with a run scored and two RBIs for the Leones del Caracas in a 9-7 loss to the Tiburones de La Guaira. Wilson Garcia (DH) went 2 for 4 (singles) for the Bravos de Margarita in a 6-3 loss to the Aguilas del Zulia. Ali Castillo (DH) was 2 for 4 (singles) with an RBI for the Aguilas.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
William Simoneit (C) went 3 for 4 (two singles & solo HR) for the Leones de Ponce in a 6-2 loss to the Criollos de Caguas. RHP Yacksel Rios pitched a scoreless inning (1 BB, 1 K) for the Criollos. RHP Jose Peña Jr pitched two scoreless innings (2 H, 3 K’s) for the Cangrejeros de Santurce in a 5-2 win over the Indios de Mayaguez.
