Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 11/28 and 11/29 (Australia). Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
Johan Rojas (CF) went 2 for 3 (singles) with a HBP, an RBI and three runs scored for the Gigantes del Cibao in a 12-3 victory over the Toros del Este. Felix Reyes (DH-1B) was 2 for 4 (single & triple) with a run scored for the Toros. Rodolfo Duran (C) homered for the Estrellas Orientales in a 6-4 loss to the Leones del Escogido. Jose Rodriguez (LF) went 2 for 5 (single & double) with an RBI for the Aguilas Cibaenas in a 10-5 loss to the Tigres del Licey. Cal Stevenson (CF-RF) was 2 for 5 (singles) with a run scored and RHP Adonis Medina pitched three plus innings (1 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s) for the Tigres.
Mexican Winter League :
Luis Verdugo (SS) was 2 for 5 (doubles) with an RBI for the Tomateros de Culiacán in a 4-2 win against the Venados de Mazatlán. LHP Anthony Gose pitched a perfect inning (2 K’s) to close out the win for the Tomateros. RHP Orlando Gonzalez pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 3 K’s - 20 pitches - 14 strikes) for the Naranjeros de Hermosillo in a 9-0 win over the Cañeros de Los Mochis.
Venezuela Winter League :
Wilson Garcia (DH) was 3 for 5 (two singles & HR) with five RBIs for the Bravos de Margarita in a 5-4 win over the Cardenales de Lara. RHP Max Castillo pitched six innings (1 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s) for the Cardenales. Odubel Herrera (DH) went 3 for 4 (singles) for the Tigres de Aragua in an 11-0 loss to the Tiburones de La Guaira. Aldrem Corredor (DH) went 3 for 5 (two singles & HR) with two runs scored and an RBI for the Leones del Caracas in a 13-8 win over the Caribes de Anzoategui. Herlis Rodriquez (CF) went 2 for 3 (single & double) and LHP Rafael Marcano pitched 1.2 innings (1 unearned R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 K) for the Caribes.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
RHP Carlos Francisco posted his first save of the year (1 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 K) for the Indios de Mayaguez in a 3-1 win against the Senadores de San Juan. Dalton Guthrie (CF) went 2 for 4 (singles) with a run scored and Jesmuel Valentin (2B) was 2 for 4 (singles) with an RBI for the Leones de Ponce in a 2-0 win over the Gigantes de Carolina. RHP Andrew Baker pitched 1.2 innings (1 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s - 18 pitches - 10 strikes) and RHP Jose Peña Jr pitched 1/3 of an inning (0 R,1 H, 1 K - stranded one of two inherited runners) for the Cangrejeros de Santurce in a 9-8 win over the Criollos de Caguas.
Australian Baseball League :
In game one of a doubleheader Devin Saltiban (CF) went 2 for 3 (single & double) and LHP Camron Hill pitched 2.1 innings (0 R, 1 H, 2 HB, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 43 pitches - 26 strikes) while Nick Ward (2B) was 1 for 5 (single) for the Adelaide Giants in a 2-0 loss to the Sydney Blue Sox. In game two Devin Saltiban (CF) was 1 for 3 (single) with two walks, Alirio Ferrebus (C) 1 for 5 (single) and Nick Ward (2B) 1 for 4 (double) with two RBIs for Adelaide in a 7-5 loss to Sydney. Jordan McArdle (RF) was 2 for 3 (singles) with a walk. Nick Ward made a great running catch into shallow left center field juggling the ball before securing it to record an out. Rixon Wingrove (1B) went 3 for 7 (single, double, HR) with an RBI for the Brisbane Bandits in a double header split with the Perth Heat.
