Australian Baseball League :
The Phillies contingent is playing for the Adelaide Giants.
12/1/23 : Adelaide 3 (8-1) Sydney 0 (4-5)
Third baseman Nick Ward was 1 for 4 with a walk and catcher Andrik Nava went 1 for 4. Twenty-six year old LHP Lachlan Wells pitched seven innings (0 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 11 K’s ) for Adelaide, he’s now thrown 18 innings on the season in three starts with a 0.00 ERA with a whopping 30 strikeouts and a minuscule 2 walks 👀. Wells was released by the Minnesota Twins in 2022 and is a minor league free agent. RHP Cam Wynne pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 1 BB - 14 pitches - 6 strikes). Former Phillies minor leaguer Kyle Glogoski pitched a scoreless inning for Sydney.

11/29/23 : Infielder Rodolfo Castro went 1 for 4 with a run scored for Toros del Este in a 5-4 win over Leones del Escogido.
11/27/23 : LHP Jhordany Mezquita pitched two scoreless innings (0 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s) for Aguilas Cibaeñas, he’s currently a free agent. Former Phillies RHP Ramon Rosso also threw two scoreless innings (0 H, 2 BB, 1 K) for Aguilas Cibaeñas.
Minor League Free Agent of note : 23 year old RH reliever Ronny Henriquez - Henriquez boasts a fastball that plays up in the zone and appears to possess good carry, giving it the illusion of rising action. Henriquez uses a 95-98 mph four seamer and a changeup. He pitched for the Twins organization last season at the AAA level - 5.68 ERA in 37 games - 57 IP with 49 K’s and 36 walks. Command has been an issue for the hard thrower who started in the Rangers organization in 2017 after being signed from Bonao, Dominican Republic. He was traded to the Twins in March of 2022 as part of the Mitch Garver deal. Henriquez is now pitching in the Dominican Winter League for Tigres del Licey - made his first appearance on 11/29 with a scoreless frame, just sayin - may be worth a look 👀.
Venezuelan Professional Baseball League :
11/30/23 : RHP Carlos Betancourt pitched 2/3 of an inning (1 unearned R, 2 H, 1 BB) for Aguilas del Zulia in a 9-3 win over Caribes de Anzoategui.
11/29/23 : RHP Eiberson Castellano threw a perfect inning for Aguilas del Zulia in a 6-4 win over Caribes de Anzoategui. So far in the season in 10 appearances he’s posted a 2.77 ERA in 13 IP with 9 K’s and 4 BB. Catcher Rafael Marchan went 2 for 4 (single and double) and scored twice for Tigres de Aragua in a 5-4 loss to Bravos de Margarita.
11/26/23 : Rafael Marchan was 1 for 2 with a double and two walks, an RBI and two runs scored for Tigres de Aragua in a 12-7 win over Águilas del Zulia. Simon Muzziotti went 2 for 5 with a single and double, two RBIs and two runs scored for Aguilas. Former Phillie Carlos Tocci was 3 for 4 with two singles and a double for the Tigers and former Phillie Ali Castillo went 4 for 4 with three singles, a home run and four RBIs for Aguilas.
Mexico Pacific League :
11/30/23 : Former Phillies outfielder Aaron Altherr went 1 for 3 with a double for Naranjeros de Hermosillo in a 4-2 win over Tomateros de Culiacán. RHP Pedro Reyes pitched 2/3 of an inning (0 R, 1 H, 1 BB) for Tomateros de Culiacán. Second baseman Esteban Quiroz went 2 for 4 for Algodoneros de Guasave in a 3-1 loss to Águilas de Mexicali.
11/29/23 : Former Phillies minor league outfielder Ben Aklinski went 1 for 4 with a home run for Yaquis de Obregón in a 6-0 win against Sultanes de Monterrey. Esteban Quiroz went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored for Algodoneros de Guasave in a 10-5 victory over Águilas de Mexicali.
11/28/23 : RHP Pedro Reyes pitched 1.1 innings (0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s) for Tomateros de Culiacán in an 8-2 loss to Naranjeros de Hermosillo. Outfielder Aaron Altherr made his debut for Naranjeros. Former Phillies RHP Fernando Lozano pitched five innings (1 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 1 K) for Águilas de Mexicali in a 5-1 win over Algodoneros de Guasave.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
11/30/23 : Former Phillies minor league outfielder Danny Ortiz went 3 for 4 for Mayaguez in a 5-3 win against Santurce.
Other Notes :
Former Phillies major league hitting coach Joe Dillon has been hired by the Kansas City Royals as their major league Assistant Hitting Coach. Free agent minor league catcher Max McDowell has re-signed with the Toronto Blue Jays, he played most of last season with the Reading Fightins before being traded to Toronto on 9/16/23 for cash considerations.
