Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues.
Mexican Pacific League :
12/25/24 action : Luis Verdugo playing shortstop went 1 for 5 with two runs scored for Tomateros de Culiacán in a 4-3 twelve inning loss to Algodoneros de Guasave. Former Phillies minor league LHP JP Woodward threw a perfect inning with three strikeouts for Venados de Mazatlán in a 3-0 win over Mayos de Navojoa.
The regular season ends on 12/30/24 - the top eight of the ten league teams seeded by regular season position qualify for the playoffs which begin on 1/1/25 - each playoff round is a best of seven series with the eventual champion crowned the winner of the newly named Mexican legend Fernando Valenzuela championship trophy.
Australia Winter League :
12/26/24 action : one game scheduled - former Phillies minor league outfielder Chris Burke was 1 for 3 with a double and run scored for Melbourne in a 7-0 win against Brisbane. Full regular season play resumes 12/27/24. Phillies minor league infielder Diego Gonzalez has replaced infielder Trent Farquhar on the Adelaide Giants roster. There are four weeks (rounds) left in the regular season.
Colombia Winter League :
12/25/24 action : no games scheduled - regular season concludes this week with play from 12/26 to 12/30. The playoffs begin on 1/3/25 with the top four teams qualifying for round robin play thru 1/9/25 - the top two teams after round robin play meet in the league championship.
Panama Winter League :
12/25/24 action : no games scheduled - play resumes on 12/26 with two days remaining in the regular season.
Dominican Winter League :
12/25/24 action : no games scheduled - the league announced that seven rainout or suspended games will be made up from 12/26 to 12/30 (last one only if necessary) to conclude the regular season.
Venezuela Winter League :
12/25/24 action : no games scheduled - round robin playoffs play begins for five teams on 12/27/24.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
12/25/24 action : no games scheduled - regular season play resumes 12/26/24.
Nicaragua Winter League :
12/25/24 action : no games scheduled - round robin playoffs play began on 12/23 and continues with games on 12/26 running till 1/5/25.
