Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in fall/winter leagues from games played on 12/2. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
Felix Reyes (1B) was 1 for 4 (double) with an RBI and run scored for the Toros del Este in a 6-1 win against the Estrellas Orientales. RHP Robinson Martinez pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 2 K’s) for the Leones del Escogido in a 6-0 win over the Aguilas Cibaenas.
Mexican Winter League :
Jon Singleton (1B) was 2 for 4 (single & double) for the Tomateros de Culiacán in a 4-0 win over the Naranjeros de Hermosillo. LHP Jared Wetherbee pitched six scoreless innings (3 H, 2 BB, 6 K’s - 92 pitches - 54 strikes) for the Jaguares de Nayarit in a 3-0 victory over the Algodoneros de Guasave.
Venezuela Winter League :
RHP Cristian Hernandez pitched a scoreless inning (1 H, 1 K) for the Caribes de Anzoategui in a 6-4 win over the Navegantes del Magallanes. Leandro Pineda (LF) hit a solo home run for the Navegantes. Wilson Garcia (DH) was 2 for 4 (single & double) with two RBIs and a run scored for the Bravos de Margarita in a 8-1 win over the Aguilas del Zulia.
Puerto Rico Winter League :
RHP Andrew Baker pitched 1/3 of an inning (0 R, 1 BB) for the Cangrejeros de Santurce in a 4-0 loss to the Criollos de Caguas. Dalton Guthrie (CF) was 2 for 4 (double & HR) with a walk, run scored and two RBIs while teammate Jesmuel Valentin (2B) also went 2 for 4 (singles) with a walk and two runs scored for the Leones de Ponce in a 8-4 win over the Gigantes de Carolina. Jan Hernandez (CF) was 2 for 5 (singles) with a run scored for the Gigantes.
Colombian Winter League :
Nolan Beltran (SS) walked twice, scored a run and posted an RBI in four plate appearances for the Tigres de Cartagena in a 8-1 win against the Vaqueros de Monteria.
Other Off-Season Notes :
Infielder Scott Kingery has signed a minor league contract with an invitation to big league spring training with the Chicago Cubs.
