Notes on Phillies and former Phillies participating in winter leagues from games played on 12/30. Current Phillies bolded and underlined.
Dominican Winter League :
Round Robin Playoff Tournament : Bryan De La Cruz (RF) went 3 for 5 (two doubles & HR) with five RBIs and three runs scored for the Toros del Este (3-1) in a 8-5 win over the Aguilas Cibaenas (1-3). RHP Jonathan Hernandez pitched a scoreless inning (1 BB, 1 K - 17 pitches - 9 strikes) for the Aguilas. The Leones del Escogido (4-0) defeated the Gigantes del Cibao (0-4) 3-2 - Johan Rojas (CF) was 0 for 3 with a walk for the Gigantes.
Mexican Winter League :
RHP Alan Rangel pitched a perfect inning (10 pitches - 7 strikes) for the Naranjeros de Hermosillo in a 6-3 loss to the Yaquis de Obregón. RHP Pedro Reyes pitched four scoreless innings (3 H, 2 BB, 1 K) and Joey Meneses (1B) went 2 for 4 (singles) with a run scored and RBI for the Tomateros de Culiacán in a 4-1 win over the Jaguares de Nayarit.
Venezuela Winter League :
Herlis Rodriguez (CF) was 2 for 5 (single & HR) with two walks, three runs scored and an RBI for the Caribes de Anzoategu as they defeated the Tigres de Aragua 13-12 in the deciding game of the Wild Card Playoff Series. Rodriguez’s home run was a walk-off game winner in the bottom of the 12th inning that propelled the Caribes to the league’s round robin playoff tournament and eliminated the Tigres.
