2/10/2021 : Free Agent Signing

The Phillies have signed outfielder Matt Joyce to a minor league contract.

Joyce is 36 years old and played for the Marlins in 2020. He hit .252 in 127 at bats. Joyce has extensive experience as a pinch hitter. He’s a left handed hitter who’s played in 13 major league seasons. Matt has played for the Tigers, Rays, Angels, Pirates, A’s, Braves and Marlins.

He will compete for a bench role this spring.
