Sunday - February 5th
RHP Ricardo Pinto pitched the final two innings in a 3-2 win for Venezuela against the Dominican Republic. He gave up one unearned run on 1 hit and 1 walk and struck out a batter. RHP Carlos Francisco pitched 1 2/3 innings ( 1 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 1 K - 27 pitches - 16 strikes ) for Puerto Rico in a 3-2 loss against Panama.
Tuesday - February 7th
INF Ali Castillo doubled, walked twice and scored two runs for Venezuela in a 8-6 victory over Curaçao - RHP Ricardo Pinto pitched four innings ( 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 47 pitches - 30 strikes ) in the game.
Wednesday - February 8th
RHP Harold Arauz pitched six innings ( 1 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 64 pitches - 48 strikes ) for Panama in a 10-4 win over Cuba.
1B Vimael Machin went 3 for 5, scored a run and knocked in three others for Puerto Rico in a 9-3 win over Mexico - RHP Carlos Francisco pitched a perfect inning with 1 K ( 9 pitches - 8 strikes ) in the game and outfielder Danny Ortiz was 2 for 5 with a double and run scored for Team Puerto Rico. INF Ali Castillo had two RBIs going 1 for 5 for Venezuela in a 7-4 victory over Colombia.
The four teams to advance to the semifinals were Mexico, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Venezuela.
The Dominican Republic ( represented by Tigres del Licey ) won the Series championship with Venezuela ( represented by Leones del Caracas ) finishing second. “It marks the 11th time the Tigres has won the title and the first time since 2008. No other club has won more Caribbean Series titles, and the Tigres' win clinched the 22nd Caribbean Series championship for the Dominican Republic.” - ESPN
