Watson had agreed to a minor league contract with an invitation to big league spring training. The 35 year old has pitched in 10 major league seasons with the Pirates, Blue Jays, Dodgers and Giants. He’s spent the past three years with the Giants posting a 2.50 ERA in 21 games last season ( 18 IP ).
Over his career he has a 40-25 record with a 2.80 ERA in 627 games ( 580 IP).
