Note :  last year for John McMillon was a “work back” year from elbow/forearm issues - he spent most of the season at AA Reading - velocity was down, this year he has worked in spring camp and extended spring training to regain form - previously in his career had fired 100 mph and upper nineties consistently - encouraging sign to see 96-98 mph this evening with the heater with a sharp slider as well - could still become a hidden gem - has to harness the command but stuff was decent.

THE GREAT WHITE NORTH: The IronPigs are making their maiden voyage to the state of Minnesota for a first ever meeting with the St. Paul Saints. Since the realignment of the International League for the 2021 season, the 'Pigs have still yet to play the Iowa Cubs and Nashville Sounds (either at home or on the road). The 'Pigs have never ventured out to Memphis and have yet to host Omaha (although they have been there twice and will make a third trip this season). Strangely, the 'Pigs have not played Louisville since 2019 while they have their first meeting in seven years with Indianapolis later this summer. - Sam Jellinek - Manager, Broadcasting & Media Relations - Lehigh Valley IronPigs

Major League Baseball announced that Reading Fightin Phils pitcher Luke Russo has been named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week after a dominant outing against Hartford. Russo earned the win last Wednesday, tossing five innings of one-run, one-hit ball while striking out seven and issuing no walks, throwing 50 of his 69 pitches for strikes. His only run allowed came in the second inning before he retired the final 11 batters he faced. The 25-year-old returned to Reading this season after an injury-shortened 2025 campaign in which a forearm strain limited him to just three appearances with the club. Russo began his professional career in 2024, combining for an 8-5 record and 4.35 ERA across 22 outings between Clearwater and Jersey Shore. A 16th-round pick in the 2023 draft out of Eastern Michigan, Russo becomes the first Fightin Phil to earn a league honor in 2026 and the first to be named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week since Griff McGarry last season. - Jake Starr - Reading Director of PR/Media Relations, Client Fulfillment & Broadcaster

Against their neighbors roughly six miles down the road, the Threshers won every single series they played against Dunedin, taking 13 of the 18 total games the two teams played against each other. This season, the teams will face off in both the first and second half of the year, with at least one series between the Threshers and Blue Jays to take place in all but one month of the season. - Josh Sperber - Clearwater Threshers Broadcaster
