The organization has 190 U.S. based minor league roster spots availed to them ( as per MLB rule ) for the off-season which includes training camp - that number reduces to 180 once the official minor league games begin in April. Players placed on the long term 60 day injured list do not count towards the totals however players cannot be placed on the injury list during the off-season. Ultimately there will be 14 players on the major league 40 man roster that will count against the allotted 180 minor league player in season limit as they will be optioned to the minors for league play - they do not count against the off-season 190 player total till they are sent back to the minor leagues during spring camp. There are players that I am aware of that will begin the 2023 season on the 60 day IL as they continue to work back from injuries.
