Minor League Spring Training :
Today was transition from mini camp to official minor league camp - the Phillies have 137 players in minor league camp. In addition there are 30 players in major league camp as non-roster invitees who are on minor league contracts. Fifteen players on the 40 man roster will eventually occupy minor league roster spots. That brings the current total of players to be designated as minor leaguers to 182 which is 17 over the opening day allowable limit of 165 as active players. Some players will be placed on long term Injured List assignments which will exclude them from the allowable limit however there will still be roster reductions needed to get to the eventual active roster. That’s one of the reasons for Spring Camp, securing jobs - good luck to all the players in that pursuit.
Pitchers :
Side bullpens (seven mounds) - Colin Peluse, Reese Dutton, Brian Walters, Josbel Garcia, Connor Gillispie, Jake Eddington, James Tallon, Juan Amarante, Wesley Moore, Zuher Yousef, Orlando Gonzalez, AJ Wilson, Zack Tukis, Wilmer Blanco, Raymon Rosario, Luis Gonzalez, Eligio Arias, Tanner Gresham, Anderson Navas, Erik Ritchie, Nate Karaffa
