Summary :
Garrett Stubbs walked in the second inning and scored on a double down the left field line by Otto Kemp.
A walk and two singles scored a run for the Pirates in the fourth inning.
A bloop single (lost in the sun), stolen base, two walks, ground out and single scored two runs for Pittsburgh in the fifth inning.
Kody Clemens hit a long home run to right field to lead off the sixth inning.

Defensive Gems :
The Phillies flashed the leather in the third inning - shortstop Edmundo Sosa made a nice diving stop and pop up throw to first base on a hard hit grounder up the middle. Pitcher Christopher Sanchez made a running snag on a drag bunt down the first base line and flip to first base, the flip was high but first baseman Otto Kemp went high extension while holding the bag to record the out. Later in the inning catcher Garrett Stubbs picked a one hop pitch and threw a seed in a continuous motion to third base attempting to nail the base runner stealing from second base.

Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reported that in a Cactus League game yesterday between the Padres and Rangers that “during one of the at bats in the game the home plate umpire was John Bacon, the pitcher was Dylan Cease and the batter Jake Burger. Yep that's right: Bacon Cease Burger.” 😂
