Game Twelve Summary : Mets 5 Phillies 1
The Mets scored twice in the bottom of the first inning on three straight singles ( Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Lindor & Dominic Smith ) and a 6-4-3 double play grounder by Pete Alonso.
Jean Segura hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.
Pete Alonso hit a sac fly to score Francisco Lindor ( singled ) in the seventh inning.
Brian McCann hit a two run home run for the Mets in the eighth inning.
On The Hill :
Zack Wheeler ( FB 96-98 ) went six and on third innings - 3 R, 10 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s - 108 pitches - 71 strikes. He left the game with runners on first and third base.
Sam Coonrad ( FB 97-99 ) allowed an inherited runner to score but retired both batters in faced in 2/3 of an inning’s work.
Jo Jo Romero ( FB 93-94 ) was tagged for a two run home run in the eighth inning. He went 2/3 of an inning and allowed two hits and a HBP.
Vince Velasquez ( FB 93-95 ) walked the first batter he faced. He struck out the next one to end the eighth inning.
At The Plate : held to just three hits
Jean Segura had two hits - an infield single and home run. Rhys Hoskins singled.
