International League ( AAA ) - Columbus 8 (13-11) Lehigh Valley 5 (18-8) - ten innings

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Scoring Summary :


A triple and single scored a run for Columbus in the first inning.


Johnathan Rodríguez hit a two run home run for Columbus in the third inning.


Rodolfo Castro doubled in the bottom of the third and scored on a home run by Rafael Lantigua.


Brandon Marsh walked in the fourth inning, Buddy Kennedy, Gabriel Rincones Jr and Erick Brito followed with singles to score two runs.


Petey Halpin homered in the top of the fifth inning. A single, ground out and single scored another run.


The IronPigs loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth on a Brandon Marsh single, force-out fielders choice and two walks. With two outs Rodolfo Castro singled on a Baltimore Chop towards third base (fielded by the pitcher) to score a run.


The game went into extra innings.


Dom Nunez hit a three run home run for Columbus in the top of the tenth inning.

Rodolfo Castro had two hits (single & double). Rafael Lantigua hit a two run home run. Brandon Marsh was 1 for 3 (single) with two walks and a strikeout.

Scoring Summary :


Yohander Martinez homered for Fort Myers in the third inning.


Two walks, three stolen bases, a strikeout/passed ball and throwing error (C Eduardo Tait) scored two runs for Fort Myers in the fourth inning.


Diego Gonzalez walked in the fifth inning, went to second on an errant pickoff throw and scored on a single by Dante Nori.


A triple and single scored a run for Fort Myers in the sixth inning. A double scored another run.


Avery Owusu-Asiedu doubled in the seventh inning, Aroon Escobar singled. Dante Nori scored a run with a sacrifice fly. Escobar went to second on a ground out and scored on a single by Griffin Burkholder.


At Bat : 3 R, 7 H, 3 BB, 10 K’s


Dante Nori had two hits (singles) and an RBI.  Diego Gonzalez walked twice.

Defensive Gem :


In the first inning catcher Eduardo Tait made a quick low laser throw to second base that second baseman Aroon Escobar made a great snag and tag on to eliminate a would be base stealer. The two youngsters can not only hit, they are really good defenders as well.


System Transactions :


Jersey Shore : RHP Micah Ottenbreit reinstated from 7-day Injured List.


Clearwater : OF Griffin Burkholder added to the Threshers Roster from the FCL. RHP Ryan Degges has been placed on the Development List
