AAA - Charlotte 6 (12-14) Lehigh Valley 3 (11-13)- ten innings

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park


Summary :


Cal Stevenson singled in the third inning, stole second and scored on a single by Jordan Luplow.


Chuckie Robinson homered for Charlotte in the 4th inning.  A single and two doubles scored two runs for them in the 5th.


Simon Muzziotti homered in the bottom of the 5th.


Nick Podkul homered in the 8th inning.


Charlotte scored three runs in the top of the 10th on two intentional walks and three singles.


At Bat : 3 R, 5 H, 3 BB, 8 K’s


Simon Muzziotti and Nick Podkul homered.


On The Hill : 6 R, 11 H, 5 BB, 7 K’s


David Buchanan pitched seven innings, 3 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 96 pitches - 62 strikes.  Nick Nelson pitched an inning, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s. Ryan Burr pitched an inning, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s.  Tyler McKay pitched an inning, 3 R - 2 earned, 3 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s.


Series Stuff 🤔 :


Lehigh Valley won 2 of the 6 games in the series.  Darick Hall went 8 for 26 (.308) with a double, home run and 7 RBIs, he drew 3 walks.  Jordan Luplow was 8 for 20 (.400) including a four hit game on Friday.  David Dahl was 6 for 18 (.333). Cal Stevenson was 5 for 16 (.313) with 5 walks (.476 OBP). Simon Muzziotti 6 for 22 (.273). On the pitching front Taylor Lehman (2.2 IP) made three scoreless appearances, Jose Ruiz (2 IP) and Andrew Bellatti (1.1 IP) each had two.  Mick Abel went six innings in his start (2 R) and Tyler Phillips picked up a win going seven frames in his outing.  David Buchanan  made two starts - 14.1 IP, 5 R, 10 K’s.


AA - Reading 6 (10-11) Somerset 3 (9-12)

Reading, PA - FirstEnergy Stadium


Summary :


Ben Rice homered for Somerset in the 1st inning.


Marcus Lee Sang singled in the third, moved to second on a ground out and scored on a single by Trevor Schwecke.


Jared Wegner homered for Somerset in the 5th inning.  Benjamin Cowles homered in the 6th for them.


Jim Haley homered in the bottom of the 6th inning.  Baron Radcliff and Marcus Lee Sang walked, Robert Moore doubled to score Radcliff. Jose Rodriquez reached on a fielding error on which Lee Sang scored.


On The Hill : 3 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 13 K’s


Lachlan Wells went 5 innings, 2 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 8 K’s - 64 pitches - 46 strikes.  Beau Burrows went an inning, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s.

Tristan Garnett pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 HB, 0 BB, 1 K.  Max Lazar pitched a perfect inning - 2 K’s.  Tommy McCollum closed it out - 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s

Robert Moore and Trevor Schwecke each had two hits (single & double).  Jim Haley homered


Series Stuff 🤔 :


Reading won 4 of the 6 games in the series.  Caleb Ricketts went 5 for 10 (.500) with three doubles.  Gabriel Rincones Jr was 3 for 8 (.375) in two games with a HR before going on the IL, looks like he could be there awhile.  Carson Taylor was 5 for 15 (.333), Ethan Wilson 3 for 10 (.300) and Trevor Schwecke 5 for 14 (.357).  RHP Robinson Pina had a scoreless start (6 IP) as did Christian McGowan (3.2 IP).  Tristan Garnett (2 IP) and Max Lazar (2 IP) each made two scoreless appearances.  Konnor Ash pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief with 5 K’s in his one appearance.


High A - Aberdeen 7 (11-10) Jersey Shore 6  (9-12)

Aberdeen, MD - Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium


Summary :


Aberdeen scored a first inning run on two singles and a ground out.


Cade Fergus singled in the 5th inning, stole second base and scored when Hendry Mendez reached base on a throwing error by Aberdeen’s shortstop.


Erick Brito and Cade Fergus singled in the 5th inning, Justin Crawford singled to score Brito.  Hendry Mendez doubled to score two runs.  Two consecutive groundouts moved Mendez to third and then across the plate.


A double and two singles scored two runs for Aberdeen in the bottom of the 5th inning.


William Bergolla reached on a fielders choice in the 8th, stole second and third base then scored on a wild pitch.


Matthew Etzel homered for Aberdeen in the 8th, a single and double scored another.


Aberdeen scored two runs in the 9th inning on a single, walk and a walk-off double.


On The Hill : 7 R, 12 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s


Braeden Fausnaught pitched 5.2 innings, 3 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 3 K’s - 87 pitches - 63 strikes.  Starlyn Castillo pitched 1.1 innings, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s. Andrew Walling pitched 2/3 of an inning, 2 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 K.   Daniel Harper pitched an inning, 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K.


At Bat : 6 R, 6 H, 5 BB, 10 K’s


Cade Fergus had two hits.  Hendry Mendez and Leandro Pineda each doubled.

Left fielder Emaarion Boyd made a running over the shoulder catch on a drive to the gap in the seventh inning to rob extra bases!


Series Stuff 🤔 :


Jersey Shore won 1 of the 6 games in the series.  Felix Reyes went 4 for 12 (.333).  Cade Fergus was 3 for 8 (.375) and also had two walks - .545 OBP.  Andrick Nava was 2 for 7 (.286) with 2 walks - .444 OBP. Samuel Aldegheri pitched five scoreless innings in his start with 10 K’s.  Cristian Hernandez had two scoreless outings (3 IP) as did Wesley Moore (2 IP) and Chuck King (2 IP).  Starlyn Castillo made two appearances - 5.1 IP, 1 R - 1.69 ERA for the week.


Low A - Clearwater 5 (15-6) Bradenton 3 (4-17)

Summary :


Bradenton scored a run in the fourth inning on a double and single.


Nikau Pouaka-Grego was hit by a pitch in the 5th inning, AJ Shaver walked.  A passed ball moved them up a bag, a balk scored Pouaka-Grego.  Trent Farquhar hit a two run home run.


A double and fielding error on a fly ball scored a run for Bradenton in the 6th.


Devin Saltiban hit a no doubt about it home run to left field in the bottom of the 6th.


A fielding error, single and sacrifice fly scored a run for Bradenton in the 8th.


Devin Saltiban hit his second home run of the game in the bottom of the 8th.


On The Hill :  3 R, 7 H, 2 BB, 11 K’s


Mavis Graves threw very well - 5 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 6 K’s.  Paxton Thompson threw an inning, 1 unearned R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s.

Jake Eddington went one inning - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s.  Saul Teran closed - 4th save - 2 IP, 1 unearned R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K.


At Bat : 5 R, 4 H, 8 BB, 3 K’s


Devin Saltiban was 2 for 3 with two home runs and a walk.  Trent Farquhar homered, Luis Caicuto doubled.


Series Stuff 🤔 :


Clearwater won 5 of the 6 games in the series.  Bryson Ware was 6 for 16 (.375) with a double, HR and two RBIs.  Nikau Pouaka-Grego was 4 for 10 (.400) with a double and triple. Trent Farquhar was 3 for 8 (.375) with a double, home run and nine walks - .706 OBP 😳.  Pierce Bennett went 4 for 13 (.308) with two doubles and four walks - .471 OBP.  Aidan Miller was 3 for 8 (.375). Ricardo Rosario 3 for 10 (.300) and Luis Caicuto 3 for 10 (.300) with 3 doubles. Kehden Hettiger drew 6 walks in 13 PA’s (.462 OBP).   George Klassen threw six scoreless innings (2 H, 8 K’s), Luke Russo went 5 scoreless (1 H, 8 K’s), Casey Steward pitched 5 innings (1 R, 3 H) and Mavis Graves 5 innings (1 R, 4 H) in their starts.  Jaydenn Estanista pitched 3 perfect frames in a relief appearance with 3 K’s.  Jake Eddington made two scoreless appearances (3 IP).  Saul Teran (3 IP) and Paxton Thompson (3 IP) each made two appearances yielding just one unearned run. Trent Dillard, Drew Garrett and Jose Pena each made a scoreless two inning appearance in relief.


System Transactions :


Reading :  Carlos De La Cruz reinstated from the 7-day IL.   Arturo De Freitas placed on the Development List.


Jersey Shore : RHP Trey Dillard added to the roster from Clearwater. He will report to Jersey Shore on Tuesday (April 30th).
