After a very quiet start to the 2024 season, Carlos De La Cruz broke out in a big way the last two nights. After a double off the wall on Wednesday, he broke through with his first and second home runs of the season on Thursday night. Overall, De La Cruz had two runs scored and three RBI’s in the win. It marked the third multi-homer game of his career. It was also the first time a R-Phils hit a home run in back-to-back at-bats since Nick Warddid it on Aug. 10, 2023 at New Hampshire. Thursday night also marked the third instance this season where a Fightin Phil hit two home runs in a game. - Media notes

Justin Crawford singled in the third inning, Otto Kemp walked. A wild pitch moved both runners up. Leandro Pineda hit a sacrifice fly to score Crawford. Erick Brito singled to score Kemp.

Coming into tonight’s game he is 17-37 and has hit safely in his last 10 games, raising his average from .196 to .307 (it’s the second-longest hitting streak BlueClaw this year behind Justin Crawford’s 11 game streak). Pineda has three home runs this year, all at ShoreTown Ballpark. He blasted nine homers with the BlueClaws last year, hitting .243 (.298 in the second half with an .852 OPS and .193 in the first half with a .607 OPS).
