Syracuse scored four first inning runs including three on a home run by Hayden Senger.
Justin Crawford singled in the third inning as did Buddy Kennedy. Garrett Stubbs singled to score Crawford.
Cal Stevenson walked in the fourth inning, Oscar Mercado reached on a two base throwing error. Rodolfo Castro hit a sacrifice fly to score a rule.

Everyone in the lineup reached base and eight of the nine players in the starting lineup had hits and scored runs as well. Additionally, the Fightin Phils set a season-high in hits in a game with 15 and time of game at 3:22. Reading also tied season highs in hits in an inning with five in the bottom of the first and earned runs off an opposing starting pitcher with five on Rafael Sanchez. The game started on time and two outs were recorded in the top half of the first inning but a nearby lightning strike pulled everyone off the field - the game went into immediate weather delay. Play resumed nearly two hours later at 8:34 PM. Both starting pitchers were replaced when play resumed-started.
