5/20/25 : Phillies sign RHP Lucas Sims to minor league contract

Lucas Sims is 31 years old and was recently released by the Washington Nationals. He’s pitched in 263 games in the major leagues over nine seasons mostly with the Cincinnati Reds. Lucas was the Braves 1st round draft selection in the 2012 draft from Brookwood HS in Georgia. He’s scuffled this year but has had good years in the past.
Lucas will ramp up at the complex and has been added to the FCL Phillies roster. When he’s right he features a mid nineties fastball and sweeper but also has a curve, sinker and slider.
