International League ( AAA ) - Rochester (8-24) Lehigh Valley (23-10) - Doubleheader

Game One : Lehigh Valley 13 Rochester 1


Scoring Summary :


Otto Kemp led off the game with a home run. Buddy Kennedy doubled and scored on a single by Christian Arroyo.


Otto Kemp struck out in the second inning but reached on a passed ball. Buddy Kennedy walked. Christian Arroyo singled to score Kemp. Oscar Mercado walked. Garrett Stubbs singled to score two runs.


In the fifth inning Otto Kemp doubled, Buddy Kennedy singled to score him. Oscar Mercado singled. Garrett Stubbs doubled to score two runs. Cade Fergus homered to score two runs. Rodolfo Castro and Rafael Lantigua walked. Otto Kemp singled to score Castro.


Rochester went to shortstop Jackson Cluff as a pitcher with two outs in the sixth inning. He threw knuckleballs.  He inherited a runner (Rafael Lantigua - walked) and then walked Otto Kemp. Christian Arroyo singled to score Lantigua.


A single, throwing error (catcher Garrett Stubbs), walk and single scored a run for Rochester in the bottom of the sixth.


Cade Fergus, Erick Brito and Rodolfo Castro singled in the seventh inning. Rafael Lantigua hit a sacrifice fly to score a run.


At Bat : 13 R, 16 H, 10 BB, 3 K’s


Otto Kemp had three hits (single, double, HR) with a walk, three runs scored and two RBIs. Christian Arroyo had three singles, three RBIs and a run scored. Buddy Kennedy, Oscar Mercado, Cade Fergus and Garrett Stubbs each had two hits, Stubbs had four RBIs. Kennedy and Stubbs doubled. Fergus hit a two run home run. Kennedy walked three times, Rafael Lantigua and Mercado twice each.


On The Hill : 1 R, 7 H, 4 BB, 8 K’s


RH Mick Abel - 5 + IP, 1 unearned R, 4 H, 4 BB, 6 K’s - 92 pitches - 60 strikes

RH Seth Johnson - 2 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 26 pitches - 19 strikes - 1 inherited runner scored


Game Two : Rochester 7 Lehigh Valley 6 - eight innings


Scoring Summary :


The IronPigs loaded the bases with walks in the second inning, Justin Crawford laid down a bunt single to score a run.


Four singles scored two Rochester runs in the bottom of the second.


Rafael Lantigua singled in the fourth inning, stole second and scored on a single by Justin Crawford.


A single, walk, sacrifice bunt and fielders choice scored a run for Rochester in the bottom of the fourth.


Oscar Mercado walked in the fifth inning, stole second and third then scored on a wild pitch.


Rafael Lantigua walked in the sixth, Justin Crawford bunted for a single, Gabriel Rincones Jr walked to load the bases.  Buddy Kennedy walked to score a run. Oscar Mercado hit a long sacrifice fly to left center field to score a run.


A single and double scored a run for Rochester in the bottom of the seventh. Another single and sacrifice fly scored the game tying run.


The game went into extra innings.


Gabriel Rincones Jr doubled to score placed runner Justin Crawford in the eighth inning.


A fielding error (third baseman Otto Kemp) and a walk loaded the bases for Rochester in the bottom of the eighth. A single scored two runs for the walk-off win.


At Bat : 6 R, 9 H, 8 BB, 10 K’s


Justin Crawford had four hits (three singles - two were bunts & double) with two RBIs.  Otto Kemp and Gabriel Rincones Jr doubled. Rafael Lantigua walked twice and scored twice. The IronPigs stole five bases - two by Oscar Mercado.

Robert Moore homered in the first inning.


Elio Prado doubled in the second inning and scored on a single by Aidan Miller.


Two doubles and a single scored two runs for Harrisburg in the third inning.


The game went into extra innings.


A single scored the placed runner for Harrisburg in the top of the tenth inning.


Robert Moore was the placed runner in the bottom of the tenth inning, he advanced to third on a wild pitch. Felix “El Gato” Reyes hit a walk-off two out two run home run to win the game!


At Bat : 4 R, 11 H, 9 BB, 10 K’s


Aidan Miller had three hits (singles). Elio Prado had two hits (single & double). Leandro Pineda had two hits (singles). Robert Moore homered.  Felix Reyes had two hits (single & HR) and two RBIs. Luis Verdugo, Andrick Nava, Trent Farquhar and Robert Moore each walked twice.

Eddy Rodriguez homered for Bradenton in the eighth inning.


With two outs in the ninth inning Joel Dragoo doubled, Avery Owusu-Asuedu singled and Kodey Shojinaga walked to load the bases. Guillermo Rosario walked to score a run.


The game went into extra innings.


In the top of the tenth Bradenton put down a sacrifice bunt to move the placed runner to third base, the next batter hit a grounder to third baseman Brady Day who threw the runner out at home attempting to score!


In the eleventh inning Joel Dragoo reached on a fielding error that also moved placed runner Griffin Burkholder to third base. Kodey Shojinaga scored Burkholder with the game winner as he lined a single to center field!


At Bat : 2 R, 7 H, 7 BB, 9 K’s


Kodey Shojinaga had two singles and two walks and the game winning RBI. Joel Dragoo hit two doubles, Avery Owusu-Asuedu had two singles. Aroon Escobar walked three times, once intentionally.


On The Hill : 1 R, 4 H, 4 BB, 16 K’s

Center fielder Avery Owusu-Asiedu threw out a runner at the plate attempting to score in the first inning.
