( AAA ) - Worcester 11 (16-16) Lehigh Valley 1 (12-18)

Worcester, MA - Polar Park


Summary :


Worcester got a solo home run from Bobby Dalbec in the 2nd inning.


Jim Haley singled in the third inning, stole second and scored on a single by Simon Muzziotti.


Chase Meidroth homered for Worcester in the third inning, a double, single, walk and groundout scored another run.


Worcester scored six runs in the 4th inning - three on a home run by Niko Kavadas.   They added two in the 7th inning on a hit batter, walk and double.


At Bat : 1 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 11 K’s


Simon Muzziotti had an RBI single.


On The Hill : 11 R, 12 H, 7 BB, 9 K’s


Max Castillo went 3.1 innings - 6 R, 8 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s - 92 pitches - 56 strikes.  Tyler McKay pitched 2/3 of an inning - 3 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 2 inherited runners scored.  Griff McGarry pitched two innings - 0 R, 0 H, 3 BB, 3 K’s.  Zac Houston pitched an inning - 2 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s.  Taylor Lehman pitched a perfect inning - 1 K.


Series Stuff 🤔 :


Lehigh Valley went 1-5 in the six game series.  LHP David Parkinson made two appearances (6.2 IP) allowing just one run, walked none and struck out five batters. Tyler Phillips went 6.2 innings in his start allowing two runs, LHP Taylor Lehman (2.2 IP) and RHP Griff McGarry (3.2 IP) each made three scoreless appearances.  RHP Nick Nelson (2 IP) made two scoreless relief appearances. It was a rough week for the hitters however UTL Matt Kroon went 4 for 10 (.400) with a double, home run and five walks to post a .625 OBP.


(AA) - Portland 2 (16-9) Reading 1 (11-16)

Portland, ME - Hadlock Field


Summary :


Baron Radcliff singled in the second inning, William Simoneit was hit by a pitch.  A groundout moved them up a base, Casey Martin hit a sacrifice fly to score a run.


Portland scored two runs in the 7th on a home run by Matthew Lugo.


On The Hill :  2 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 7 K’s


Lachlan Wells pitched six scoreless innings, 4 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s - 73 pitches - 48 strikes.  Andrew Baker faced 4 batters - one hit and three walks - he was charged with 2 runs. Mitch Neunborn pitched an inning, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K - two inherited runners stranded.  Matt Lazar pitched a perfect inning - two K’s.


At Bat : 1 R, 4 H, 4 BB, 7 K’s


William Simoneit doubled.  Carson Taylor singled and walked twice.


Series Stuff 🤔 :


Reading was 1-5 in the six game series.  OF Marcus Lee Sang went 6 for 16 (.375) with two doubles, two home runs and four RBIs, he posted a .444 OBP.  William Simoneit was 3 for 9 (.333) with a double and home run.  LHP Lachlan Wells pitched six scoreless innings in his start on Sunday, RHP Andrew Schultz (2 IP), Max Lazar (2 IP) each made two scoreless relief appearances and LHP Tristan Garnett (4 IP) pitched effectively in two relief appearances.


( High A )  - Jersey Shore 2 (14-13) Bowling Green 0 (13-14 )

Lakewood, NJ - ShoreTown Ballpark


Summary :


Justin Crawford singled in the 1st inning, stole second base and scored on a double by Felix Reyes.  Otto Kemp singled to score Reyes.


On The Hill : 0 R, 5 H, 5 BB, 6 K’s


Starlyn Castillo pitched five innings, 0 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s - 74 pitches - 46 strikes.  Cristian Hernandez pitched an inning, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K’s.  Chuck King pitched an inning - 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K.  Andrew Walling pitched an inning, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K.  Daniel Harper earned his third save - 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K.


At Bat : 2 R, 9 H, 0 BB, 6 K’s


Justin Crawford, Emaarion Boyd and Otto Kemp each had two hits, Felix Reyes and Justin Crawford each doubled.


Series Stuff 🤔 :


Jersey Shore was 5-1 in the six game series.  3B/1B Otto Kemp was 5 for 13 (.385) with a triple and 3 RBIs, he posted a .438 OBP.  OF Hendry Mendez went 3 for 8 (.375) with 2 walks - a .500 OBP.   Shortstop Bryan Rincon was 6 for 18 (.333) with 2 doubles and 2 walks and posted a .400 OBP.  Second baseman William Bergolla had 4 hits and 4 walks in 20 PA’s (.400 OBP).  OF/1B Leandro Pineda went 7 for 21 (.333) with a triple and three RBIs.


LHP Samuel Aldegheri continues to shine, he pitched 6.2 innings allowing just one run in his start lowering his season ERA to 0.41 in 22 IP.  Fellow LH starter Braeden Fausnaught also continued to excel - he pitched 6 scoreless frames in his start striking out 8 and lowering his season ERA to 1.35 in 26.2 IP.  RHP Jean Cabrera went seven innings in his start punching out 8 batters, his season ERA is 2.25 in 28 IP. RHP Starlyn Castillo threw 5 scoreless innings.  RHP Cristian Hernandez (2.1 IP), RHP Gunner Mayer (2.1 IP), RHP Daniel Harper (2 IP), LHP Andrew Walling (2.2 IP) and LHP Danny Wilkinson (1.1 IP) each made two scoreless relief appearances.  RHP Trey Dillard pitched 1.2 scoreless frames in his JS debut after being promoted from Clearwater.


( Low A )  - Lakeland 11 (17-10) Clearwater 8 (18-9)

Lakeland, FL - Joker Marchant Stadium


Summary :


Lakeland scored three runs in the first inning on two singles, a walk and a double.


Raylin Heredia singled in the second inning, stole second and scored on a single by Jared Thomas.


Nikau Pouaka-Grego singled in the third inning, Trent Farquhar walked.  A fly out advanced Pouaka-Grego to third base, a sacrifice fly from Bryson Ware scored him.


Jordan Viars singled in the fourth inning, Avery Owusu-Asiedu walked.  Dakota Kotowski doubled to score Viars.  Nikau Pouaka-Grego singled to score two runs.


Raylin Heredia hit a 400 foot home run in the fifth inning.


Brett Callahan hit a three run home run for Lakeland in the bottom of the fifth.  They scored two runs in the 6th inning on a walk, single, double and single.


Jose De La Cruz homered for Lakeland in the seventh.


Jordan Viars doubled in the 8th inning, he scored on a single by Jared Thomas.  Dakota Kotowski singled, Nikau Pouaka-Grego singled to score Thomas.


Lakeland scored two runs in the 8th inning on two singles and three walks.


On The Hill :  11 R, 13 H, 6 BB, 10 K’s


Mavis Graves pitched 4.1 innings, he was charged with 5 runs, 4 H, 2 BB, 7 K’s.  Paxton Thompson went 1.2 innings, 3 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 0 K’s - two inherited runners scored.  Chase Hopewell pitched 1 plus four batters innings, 3 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 2 K’s.  Jose Pena Jr pitched an inning - 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 1 inherited runner scored.


At Bat : 8 R, 11 H, 3 BB, 12 K’s


Nikau Pouaka-Grego had three hits (two singles & double) with three RBIs.  Raylin Heredia, Jordan Viars and Dakota Kotowski each had two hits.  Kotowski and Viars each doubled, Heredia homered.


Series Stuff 🤔 :


Clearwater was 3-3 in the six game series.  INF Nikau Pouaka-Grego was 4 for 9 (.444) with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs, he walked 3 times - posted a .583 OBP.  C Jared Thomas was 4 for 8 (.500) with a double and two RBIs. 1B Keaton Anthony was 4 for 13 (.308) with three walks posting a .471 OBP.  Dakota Kotowski went 5 for 11 (.455) with a double and three RBIs.  TJayy Walton was 6 for 16 (.375) with 2 doubles and 4 RBIs, he walked twice - .444 OBP.


RHP Casey Steward pitched 5 scoreless innings in his start lowering his season ERA to 0.84 in 21.1 IP.  RHP George Klassen struck out seven in 4 IP before leaving his start with shoulder discomfort - he’s ok and should be able to take his turn next week.  RH reliever Jose Pena Jr made three strong appearances (5 IP).  Drew Garrett (3 IP) and Brandon Beckel (1.2 IP) each made two scoreless relief appearances.  RHP Jaydenn Estanista continued to shine in relief with 2 scoreless innings of work - in 6 appearances this season (11.1 IP) he’s yet to yield a run and has recorded 17 K’s - opponents are hitting just .081 against him.
