Low A SouthEast League - Clearwater 6 ( 18-15 ) Tampa 3 ( 23-10 )
Summary :
I attended in person tonight, heard that Yhoswar Garcia was in the lineup and wanted to see him in his first official pro game. The young man didn’t disappoint. He plays with great energy 🤓.
Tampa scored twice in the top of the second inning on four walks and a single. Threshers starter RH Eduar Segovia had difficulty finding the strike zone this evening.
Clearwater tied the game with two runs in their half of the inning as Catcher Juan Aparicio drilled a two run home run over the left field wall.
The Threshers scored a run in the third inning as CF Johan Rojas smoked a hard liner to left center field and never broke stride around first base as the Tarpons center fielder wasn’t aggressive fielding the ball, Rojas slid into second with a double. 2B Casey Martin singled to score him.
Three Clearwater runs crossed in the fourth inning, Yhoswar Garcia walked and stole second base. SS Luis Garcia also walked, he and Yhoswar pulled off a double steal with each moving up a bag. Johan Rojas singled to score Yhoswar. Casey Martin doubled to score both Luis Garcia & Rojas.
Tampa scored a single run in the 7th inning.
Yhoswar Garcia went 1 for 3 with a walk out of the leadoff spot, his hit was an infield single in the first inning that he legged out, a routine out for many but he just flat out beat the throw, he then stole both second and third base … he stole a total of four bases in the game 🔥. Casey Martin, Luis Garcia & Johan Rojas also stole bases.
LHP Maikel Garrido also impressed in his Threshers debut, those who read my page know that I’ve mentioned him before as a big arm from the back fields. He was in the 94-97 range most of his 3 1/3 innings tonight and often overmatched a very good Tarpons hitting team.
Great debuts for two fellas just added to the roster from XST camp. Kudos !
