6/18/23 : Week Eleven Minor League Review (6/12 to 6/18)

An overall record of 20-19 for the seven teams this week. The DSL Phillies White went 4-1 and got stellar pitching limiting their opponents to a total of eight runs in their five games, they had six different pitchers who threw multiple innings of shutout baseball during the week, those six combined for twenty innings, two more threw multiple frames and only allowed an unearned run each, adding their innings to the other six the total count was twenty nine innings, two unearned runs amongst the eight pitchers that I’ve listed below in the Dominican Summer League section.

Carlos De La Cruz (Reading) extended his on base streak to 33 games, the streak dates back to May 12th and via research by Reading’s Jake Starr it now matches a Reading streak from 2014 when Cam Perkins also went 33 games.  Tyler Phillips of Reading pitched six no hit, no run innings on Wednesday.  Jordan Fowler and Matt Osterberg pitched seven innings in their starts for Jersey Shore, each allowing just a run.  William Bergolla hit .500 for the week (eight for sixteen) and posted a .619 OBP in twenty two plate appearances for Clearwater and Raylin Heredia hit .563 (nine for sixteen) with two doubles and two home runs for the FCL Phillies. Jake Cave (Lehigh Valley) continues to smoke the baseball, he went eleven for twenty six this week (.423) with five extra base hits and eight RBIs, he scored six runs. Johan Rojas (Reading) went eleven for twenty six (.423) with four doubles, a triple, HR and five RBIs, two walks, two HBP, .500 OBP.  Rojas is now hitting .313 for the season in 252 AB’s and has a .371 OBP.   Rixon Wingrove hit .346 in twenty six AB’s with two doubles and two home runs, he drove in nine runs for Jersey Shore.
