FCL Phillies 8 ( 1-0 ) FCL Blue Jays 7 ( 0-1 )
Today was opening day for the FCL. The Phillies took the short bus ride over to the Blue Jays complex for the first game of the 2021 season.
Samuel Aldegheri got the opening day nod for the Phillies. He pitched three innings.
The Phillies scored five runs in the top of the second inning as Marcus Lee Sang singled, Jose Cedeno reached on an error and Oscar Gonzalez doubled to score Lee Sang. Leandro Pineda doubled to score Cedeno and Gonzalez. Pineda scored on a single by Uziel Viloria. Viloria scored on a sac fly by Guarner Dipre.
The Blue Jays scored twice in the third inning … one was unearned. They scored four in the fifth inning, three earned.
Marcus Lee Sang hit a home run to lead off the sixth inning.
The Jays scored a run in the sixth on a double and single.
Alexeis Azuaje hit a home run to lead off the seventh inning. The bases then were loaded with walks after which Wilson Valdez Jr drew an RBI walk to plate a run.

At the Bat :
Marcus Lee Sang ( 20 years old -2019 11th round draft choice ) had two hits including a home run. Alexeis Azuaje ( 19 years old from Venezuela) homered. Oscar Gonzalez ( 20 years old from Venezuela ) & Leandro Pineda ( 19 years old from Venezuela ) each doubled.
Notes :
The Phillies committed four errors in the game.
