International League (AAA) - Syracuse 5 (4-2, 42-39) Lehigh Valley 4 (2-4,37-44)

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park

At Bat : 4 R, 6 h, 5 BB, 8 K’s

Carter Kieboom doubled. Felix Reyes homered, his 18th. Paul McIntosh had two hits (singles).

On The Hill : 5 R, 8 H, 5 BB, 10 K’s

RH Andrew Painter - 4 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 4 K’s - 80 pitches - 44 strikes - my notes - I think the ump pinched him a little - some of the ball calls look like strikes to me. They were really close. He did at times get underneath his pitches with his release which caused pitches to sail but i also saw a lot of positive stuff today - mix and staying on top of the fastball quite a bit, velocity was fine and ball had life. The kid will return to form. Today he threw 43 four seamers (54 %) - 27 for strikes (50 %) - that compares to throwing 33% four seamers when he was in the big leagues. Andy had ten swing and miss pitches - 6 were on four seamers.

RH Ryan Cusick - 2.1 IP, 3 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 44 pitches - 27 strikes

RH Mitch Neunborn - 1.1 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 26 pitches - 17 strikes

RH Lou Trivino - 1.1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s - 14 pitches - 10 strikes

Smashing Their Way Into The History Books - The Reading Fightin Phils throttled a season-best six home runs in last night’s 14-5 win over the Altoona Curve. Luke Ritter (1, 2), Bryan Rincon (11), Raylin Heredia (14), Alex Binelas (18) and Bryson Ware (13) all went yard in a game where Reading never trailed. It was the first time this group smacked six home runs since May 25, 2018 against the Portland Sea Dogs. Jean Cabrera was ejected in the fifth inning after hitting Curve batter Will Taylor, but the bullpen held down the fort before the R-Phils bats sent seven across the plate in a decisive eighth inning.
