Went over to the Complex to watch an afternoon Intra-squad scrimmage ... they played into the top of the fourth before Mother Nature ended things with a downpour. My view from the parking lot wasn’t as good today so can’t report on many details but for those interested I’ll tell ya what I could determine at least.
On the Hill :
Team Schmidt - because they sat on that dugout side of Ashburn field 😎
RH DJ Jefferson - 3 IP
RH Leonel Aponte - started the bottom of the 4th before it was decided to call it a day pending rain storm coming - recorded one out
Team Carlton - because they sat on that dugout side of Ashburn field 😎

At Bat :
RF Jadiel Sanchez roped a double for Team Schmidt ... 1B Micah Yonamine and 3B Wilson Valdez singled
CF Yhoswar Garcia laced a double into the left center field gap in his first AB for Team Carlton. In his second AB he was HBP but begged the umpire to let him hit instead ... after a bit of discussion with the coaches Yhoswar won his case 🤓 however a runner was placed on first to represent the hit batter 🤫. That runner eventually scored and Yhoswar walked in his full plate appearance ... he’d probably ask to waive that too if he could have 😃 ... the young man plays with a great deal of energy ... it’s evident from even watching out in the parking lot ... every time I’ve seen him play he’s hit the ball hard and gets very excited about doing so ... I’m already a big fan from what I’ve seen and he’s not even played a real game yet 😂.
Corbin Williams had a bunt single ... he’s super fast and Oscar Gonzalez also singled.
Notes :
The Threshers will get a position player addition to the roster tonight ... I don’t announce names on those things before the team issues the official transaction but look for it later on the league transactions.
The Iron Pigs will also be adding an offensive boost to the roster ... stay tuned 🧐. Update ... No less than two minutes after I posted the original version of this the Phillies announced that Adam Haseley will begin a rehab assignment this evening with the Iron Pigs ... my timing always sucked 😂.
