6/6/21 : Minor League Roundup


Triple A East League - Scranton Wilkes Barre 4 ( 19-9 ) Lehigh Valley 3 ( 16-14


Summary :


Scranton scored all four of their runs in the first two innings with one in the first and three in the second frame. Hoy Jun Park hit a two run home run for SWB.


The Iron Pigs loaded the bases in the fifth inning on two walks and a single by DH Rafael Marchan. C Edgar Cabral walked to force in a run. Another run scored on a groundout.


CF Mickey Moniak hit a solo home run in the 8th inning.


On The Hill :


LH Ethan Evanko - 2 IP, 4 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 2 K’s - 46 pitches - 26 strikes

RH Ramon Rosso - 2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K’s - 24 pitches - 19 strikes

LHP Christopher Sanchez was promoted to the big leagues before the game. He made his MLB debut in the Phillies win over the Nationals.


Double A NorthEast League - Reading 5 ( 6-24 ) Somerset 2 ( 20-9 )


Summary :


Somerset scored in the first inning on a solo home run by Diego Castillo. Reading tied the score in the second inning on a bases loaded sac fly by 1B Madison Stokes.


DH Jorge Bonifacio hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Stokes doubled to score 3B MCarthy Tatum ( walked ) in the 6th inning.


Bonifacio doubled to score SS Bryson Stott ( walked ) and RF Matt Vierling ( singled ) in the 7th inning. Somerset scored a run in the bottom of the seventh on a bases loaded walk.


On The Hill :


RH Colton Eastman - 4 1/3 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 3 BB, 4 K’s - 67 pitches - 40 strikes

RH Braden Zarbnisky - 2/3 IP - struck out both batters he faced - 7 pitches - 6 strikes

2B Daniel Brito had two hits as did Matt Vierling. Madison Stokes had two hits including a double and delivered 2 RBIs. Jorge Bonifacio had a walk, two doubles, a home run and three RBIs ... he scored two runs.


Notes :


Before the game C Herbert Iser was promoted to Reading from Jersey Shore.


High A East League - Jersey Shore 11 ( 13-16 ) Brooklyn 6 ( 9-18 )


Summary :


Brooklyn scored three in the first inning on two singles, a walk and a double.


Jersey Shore scored a run in the second inning on an RBI single by 1B Vito Friscia.

They added three in the third on three solo home runs ( SS Jorge Tortolero, RF Jhailyn Ortiz & C Logan O’Hoppe ). LF Hunter Hearn hit a two run home run in the 4th inning.


Brooklyn scored twice in the sixth, the Blue Claws matched that in the bottom of the inning as O’Hoppe doubled to score CF Hunter Markwardt ( walked ). 1B Cole Stobbe singled to score O’Hoppe. Jersey Shore scored a run in the 7th on a bases loaded walk.


Brooklyn scored a run in the eight on a solo home run by Brett Baty.


2B Nate Fassnacht hit a two run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning.


On The Hill :

Low A SouthEast League - Clearwater 10 ( 16-14 ) Daytona 4 ( 13-17 )


Summary :


2nd Inning : RF Ben Pelletier hit a three run homer run scoring C Juan Aparicio ( singled ) and LF Baron Radcliff ( walked ) in front of him.


3rd Inning : Daytona scored a run on a home run by Reyny Reyes


4th Inning : Radcliff walked, Pelletier singled. DH Freddy Francisco doubled to score Radcliff. CF Johan Rojas hit a sac fly to score Pelletier.


6th Inning : 3B Nicolas Torres walked, he went to third on a double by CF Johan Rojas ... they both scored on a double by SS Casey Martin. Daytona scored twice in their half of the sixth on a 2 run homer by Allan Cerda.


7th Inning : Baron Radcliff hit a solo home run.


9th Inning : Baron Radcliff walked ( again 😳), Ben Pelletier doubled. Nicolas Torres doubled to score both.


On The Hill :
