The Phillies have acquired 31 year old infielder Donovan Walton from the New York Mets organization in exchange for cash considerations. Walton was added to the Lehigh Valley roster.

He has been playing for AAA level Syracuse this season where he’s posted a .222/.315/.377 slash line in 73 games (295 PA’s) with 11 home runs and 37 RBIs - he has been playing primary second base and shortstop for Syracuse but has also logged time at third base and left field. Walton was originally signed by the Seattle Mariners in 2016 as their 6th round draft selection out of Oklahoma State University.

In his career he has appeared in 70 major league games ranging from 2019 to 2024 with the Mariners and Giants, he signed a minor league contract  with the Mets this past November as a free agent after the Giants had designated him for assignment. Walton is a left handed hitter.

From a fan’s view welcome to the organization Donovan!

Happy Day, Happy Baseball ⚾️
