LHP James Tallon - 21 yrs old - Duke University

“Tallon is a lean, high-waisted lefthander with a 6-foot-5, 195-pound frame who attacks hitters from a deceptive low slot. He turned in the best season of his college career as a junior in 2025, striking out 31.3% of hitters compared to an 11.9% walk rate mostly out of Duke’s bullpen. Tallon’s 90-93 mph fastball has touched 95, but the pitch has played up in college thanks to solid riding life and a flat vertical approach angle. The fastball is Tallon’s best pitch, and he has always used it with extreme usage—including just under 70% usage in 2025—but he will also mix in an 80-85 mph slider with gloveside cutting action and very little depth, as well as an occasional mid-80s changeup. Tallon is a below-average strike-thrower with a deep, plunging arm action. If he can land his secondaries for strikes more consistently, he has the ceiling of an effective reliever in pro ball.” - Baseball America
