Home After the Break - The Fightin Phils return home from the All-Star Break to begin a three-game series against the Altoona Curve, Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. It is the seventh-of-nine matchups between the teams this season and first-of-three at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading. This weekend’s series marks the first time that Altoona is at Reading since Apr. 25-30 of the 2023 season. Since then Reading has been to Altoona three times (2023, ‘25 and ‘26). Nolan Beltran had three hits (single, two doubles) with four RBIs and two runs scored. Robert Phelps had two hits (singles), Angel Mata doubled and posted two RBIs. NO BLUES AGAINST THE JAYS: The crosstown rivalry between the Clearwater Threshers and Dunedin Blue Jays has been relatively one-sided during the last four seasons. Clearwater has not lost a series against Dunedin since 2022, with splits or Threshers’ wins highlighting series in both Clearwater and Dunedin. The Blue Jays have salvaged a few splits at TD Ballpark against Clearwater during the Threshers’ playoff streak with most of Clearwater’s success against Dunedin coming at BayCare Ballpark.
