Game One : Trenton 5 ( 30- 19 ) Lehigh Valley 2 ( 21-30 )
Summary :
Charlie Tilson & Matt Vierling hit back to back doubles in the first inning with Tilson scoring.
Trenton tied the game in the bottom of the ninth … Mark Appel loaded the bases on walks but escaped yielding just one run.
Darick Hall beat the shift and singled to left field to lead off the second inning, he went to second when Jake Elmore was HBP. Logan Moore put down a sacrifice bunt to move them up … Dalton Guthrie singled to score Hall.
Appel re-loaded the bases on walks in the second inning. An infield single tied the game at two apiece. That was the end of Mr. Appel’s game.
Trenton scored twice in the bottom of the fifth inning. Rowdy Telez hit a solo homer for Trenton in the sixth inning.
On The Hill :

Alejandro Kirk hit a solo homer for Trenton in the first inning. They scored three runs in the second inning.
Dalton Guthrie doubled in the fifth inning and scored on a double by Matt Vierling.
The game went into a rain delay with two outs in the top of the fifth inning. It was eventually suspended.
On The Hill :

Double A NorthEast League - Reading 2 ( 20-32 ) Erie 1 ( 32-20 ) - 2 hour delayed start - game began 9:15 PM - decided to play seven innings
Summary :
Erie scored a run in the second inning.
Daniel Brito doubled to score Luke Miller ( walked ) in the third inning.
Jorge Bonifacio hit a loooong home run over the left field wall to lead off the sixth inning.
Victor Santos was excellent on the mound. From the last out in the second inning thru two outs in the sixth he retired 12 batters in a row including a run where he struck out five batters in order. Great outing !
On The Hill :
RH Victor Santos - 5 2/3 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 5 K’s - 63 pitches - 44 strikes - FB sat in the 91-92 range … he was exceptional with mix and command using changeups & sliders. The 20 year old goes right after hitters, no fear. Reminds me of Ranger Suarez except he’s right handed.
RH Braden Zarbnisky - 1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 K’s - 12 pitches - 10 strikes
At Bat :
Daniel Brito had two hits including a double. Arquimedes Gamboa doubled.
Jorge Bonifacio homered.
High A East League - Jersey Shore 8 ( 21- 29 ) Hudson Valley 2 ( 32-18 )
Summary :
Jhailyn Ortiz hit a solo home run in the second inning. The Blue Claws scored twice in the fourth inning … they loaded the bases on walks by Ortiz and Jonathan Guzman sandwiched around a single by Vito Friscia. Herbert Iser singled to score Ortiz and Friscia.
Hudson Valley scored twice in the fifth inning.
Jhailyn Ortiz hit his second home run of the game in the eighth inning scoring Nate Fassnacht ( singled ) and Logan O’Hoppe ( doubled ) in front of him. Jonathan Guzman singled, Vito Friscia walked … they both scored on a double by Herbert Iser.
On The Hill :
RH Adam Leverett - 4 1/3 IP, 2 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 4 K’s - 85 pitches - 49 strikes
RH Blake Brown - one inherited runner scored - 2/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 14 pitches - 7 strikes
RH Jonathan Hughes - 4 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 5 K’s - 44 pitches - 33 strikes - retired all 12 batters he faced - outstanding effort.
At Bat :
Herbert Iser had three hits including a double. Jhailyn Ortiz hit his 7th and 8th HR’s of the season and had four RBIs. Logan O’Hoppe doubled.
Notes :
Corbin Williams attempted a straight steal of home in the third inning but was thrown out. He had singled and stolen both second and third base … was trying to finish the effort 😳.
INF Jose Tortolero was assigned to the roster from Clearwater before the game.
Low A SouthEast League - St Lucie 14 ( 28-24 ) Clearwater 4 ( 27-25 )
Summary :
Abrahan Gutierrez hit a solo home run in the third inning.
St Lucie scored four runs in the third inning as Mick Abel lost command and walked the first two hitters. That was followed by four singles and a sac fly.
In the bottom of the third Uziel Viloria singled, he went to second on a walk to Johan Rojas and scored on a single by Luis Garcia. Rojas then scored on a wild pitch.
The Mets scored six times in the 4th inning on four singles and three walks. They scored three more in the fifth inning.
Juan Aparicio homered in the sixth inning. The Mets scored a run in the 8th.
On The Hill :
