FRANCISCO RENTERIA AND MARTY GAIR EARN ORGANIZATIONAL HONORS FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE

“Dominican Summer League Phillies outfielder Francisco Renteria and Clearwater right-handed pitcher Marty Gair have been named Phillies Minor League Hitter and Pitcher of the Month, respectively, for June.

Renteria, 17, began his professional career in June, slashing .386/.452/.602 (1.054 OPS) with 23 runs, one double, four triples, three home runs, 18 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 93 plate appearances for the DSL Phillies. Among DSL batters, he ranked tied for first in hits (32), tied for second in triples, fifth in total bases (50) and tied for ninth in batting average during the month. On June 15 at DSL Rangers Red, the Venezuela native hit his first professional home run and began an 11-game hitting streak that is currently tied for the longest active streak in the DSL. During the streak, the right-handed batter hit the first grand slam of his career on June 26 at DSL White Sox. Defensively, he played 17 games in center field, posting a 1.000 fielding percentage in 30 total chances. Renteria signed with the Phillies as an amateur free agent on Jan. 15, 2026, and was signed by Elvis García. He is currently ranked by MLB.com as the No. 3 prospect in both the Phillies minor league system and the 2026 international class.

The 22-year-old Gair faced 29 batters over seven relief appearances for the Threshers in June, going 1-1 with a 1.04 ERA (ER, 8.2 IP), two saves, 18 strikeouts and three walks while holding hitters to a .038 batting average (1-26). Among Florida State League relievers to make at least five appearances during the month, he ranked first in strikeout rate (62.1%) and strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched (18.69), second in WHIP (0.46), third in strikeouts, tied for third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.00) and eighth in ERA. On June 28 against Jupiter, the Troy, N.C., native earned his first professional win after striking out two batters in a scoreless inning. This season, the right-hander’s average velocity of 97.7 mph on his four-seam fastball ranks first among the 56 single-A pitchers to throw at least 200 four-seamers. Gair was selected by the Phillies in the 13th round of the 2023 MLB Draft and was signed by Victor Gomez.”
