Summary

Singles by Grenny Cumana and Matt Kroon and a wild pitch staked Reading to a 3-0 lead in B5. Somerset forged ahead with 2 in T6 and 4 in T7. Down, 7-4 in B9, Reading scored on a Jack Conley home run and RBI single by Madison Stokes. Luke Miller fanned with the bases loaded and two out to end the game.

In the 5th inning with runners on first and third for Somerset … Catcher Jack Conley threw out the runner going to second on an attempted steal, SS Bryson Stott returned the throw home to get the runner breaking for home from third base. Two attempted steals on one play … both thrown out 😳

Summary

Two-run double by Abrahan Gutierrez, a one-run double by Edgar Made and a wild pitch produced a 4-run B4 and a win. FM came back with 2 in T5. Carlos Hernandez struck out the last batter with the bases loaded in T7 so preserve the win.

Summary

Walk-off single by Rixon Wingrove with 2 out in B-8 gave Clearwater a sweep. FM scored twice in T1 but three Clearwater relievers pitched seven shutout innings. Abrahan Gutierrez’s RBI single got one run back in B1 and Nicholas Torrez’s homer in B3 tied the game. Maikel Garrido held FM off the scoreboard in T8 by striking out the last two batters with runners on first and second bases.

Florida Complex League :


The FCL Phillies and Yankees game in Tampa was suspended due to weather in the bottom of the third inning with the Phillies leading 3-2. It will be resumed on August 4th. Felix Reyes hit a two run home run in the first inning, his second of the season.

The Phillies mashed 22 hits in the nine inning contest with every batter in the starting lineup getting a knock. Eighteen year old SS Diego Gonzalez went 5 for 6 with 2 RBIs … 1B Adony Mejia ( 20 yrs old ) was 4 for 6 and 17 year old DH Solardo Rodriquez was 3 for 5 with two doubles and three runs scored. Eighteen year old CF Santiago Torres had two knocks including a double. Seventeen year old C Rickardo Perez & 18 year old LF Gabriel Tirado each had two hits.


Four hurlers pitched for the Phillies with 20 year old Manuel Urias starting and going four innings.
