International League ( AAA ) -  Lehigh Valley 5 (4-3, 40-40) Scranton Wilkes Barre 4 (4-2, 38-42)

On the Hill :


Nick Nelson started but didn’t make it out of the first inning, Five relievers followed, four held the opposition scoreless - Jeremy Walker (2 1/3 scoreless), Taylor Lehman (2 IP, no runs), Jacob Barnes (2 1/3 scoreless).  Andrew Bellatti pitched out of a bases loaded no out jam in the ninth for the save, no runs allowed.


At the Bat :


Kody Clemens and Drew Ellis each had two hits.

Scott Kingery was a driving force of the IronPigs offense in June. In 21 games, he slashed .343/.418/.571 for a .989 OPS. He's doubled six times and homered thrice, driving in nine runs while scoring 15 times. The .989 OPS is the highest for Kingery in a single month since he posted .951 mark in June of 2019 while at the Major League level with the Phillies. Five pitchers were used, Andrew Schultz pitched a scoreless frame, two strikeouts.  Braden Zarbnisky pitched two scoreless innings and Brett Schulze closed with a perfect ninth inning.


At the Bat :


Ethan Wilson had three hits (two singles & double), Johan Rojas had two hits (double & HR).  Cameron Canon doubled and had two RBIs.

Matt Osterberg started and went four innings, four runs.  Tristan Garnett pitched two scoreless innings. Matt Russell, Jordi Martinez and Rodolfo Sanchez each threw a scoreless inning.



At the Bat :


Rixon Wingrove doubled, Gabriel Rincones Jr homered.   The team had three hits.

Gabriel Cotto went six innings, one run, three hits, one walk, two strikeouts. Noah Song went one and two thirds, no runs, two hits, one walk, four strikeouts. Jonh Henriquez went one and a third, one run, two hits, one walk, three strikeouts.  Noah Song averaged 94 mph on his four seamer, touched 96 mph, also threw a slider and curve.


At the Bat :


Ricardo Rosario had three hits (two singles and HR).  Felix Reyes and Emaarion Boyd each doubled, Boyd stole his 41st base of the season, Justin Crawford stole his 34th.

Summary :


Raylin Heredia tripled to lead off the game, he then scored on a wild pitch.


In the fifth inning Raylin Heredia walked and Kendall Simmons was hit by a pitch, they both advanced on a ground out.  Heredia scored on a fielders choice grounder on which Dakota Kotowski reached.


The Yankees scored three in the sixth inning, two on a home run by John Cruz.


The Phillies scored three in the seventh, two on a home run by Dakota Kotowski.


The Yankees scored a run in the 8th on a double by Kelvin Espino.


On the Hill :


Mavis Graves started and pitched three and one third innings, no runs, one hit, one walk, six strikeouts.  Five relievers followed, Drew Garrett made his pro debut with a scoreless inning, one hit, one strikeout.  Saul Teran pitched a scoreless ninth inning to post his second save.


At the Bat :


Marco Soto doubled, Raylin Heredia tripled and walked twice, he scored three runs.  Dakota Kotowski homered, his 8th of the season, he had three RBIs in the game.

System Transactions :


Reading : Transferred Dominic Pipkin from high-A Jersey Shore (he was returned from his minor league rehab assignment with Clearwater and reinstated from Jersey Shore’s 60-day IL prior to the transfer).


FCL Phillies : RHP Drew Garrett (Low-A Clearwater 60-day IL) began a minor league rehab assignment.  INF Kendall Simmons (High-A Jersey Shore 7-day IL) began a minor league rehab assignment.

What is the org's plan for Dakota Kotowski? He was a college bat and all he does is hit in the FCL!
