On The Hill :

RH Kevin Gowdy - 6 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 6 K’s - 84 pitches - 59 strikes …. he featured a very good splitter changeup today predominantly in the 79-82 mph range - great downward movement - that got a ton of swing and misses and was the strikeout pitch on multiple occasions. Fastball command was also solid … sitting today in the 92-94 mph range. He retired the first 11 batters he faced in the game. Very strong outing. Jersey Shore speed readings from the stadium register which generally has been 2-3 mph slower than the scout readings 🤪

LH JP Woodward - 2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 4 K’s - 35 pitches - 23 strikes

RH Carlos Francisco - 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 13 pitches - 6 strikes

At Bat :

Keaton Greenwalt & Jhailyn Ortiz each had two hits. Casey Martin & Vito Friscia each doubled, Friscia had two RBIs. Logan O’Hoppe hit a two run home run and DJ Stewart a solo homer.

Notes :

Under the new MLB rules for the minor leagues each team is allowed to play one morning game during the season but it must be played on a date when both clubs are off the day before. Since the minor leagues are only off on Monday’s this season that only leaves Tuesday for the morning games. They are popular with kids summer camps, today was no exception to that, very enthusiastic young audience at the game.
