Potter Notes 🤔:

RHP Sam Coonrad & SS Freddy Galvis were added to the roster on rehab assignments. Freddy didn’t push hard while running the bases, coming off a quad injury it was evident he’s still a bit hampered.

Low A Southeast League – Clearwater Threshers (39-47) at Bradenton Marauders (55-33); LECOM Park

Game One - completion of 7/11 suspended game -bottom of 9th

Bradenton 5 Clearwater 4 - 10 innings

We reported on the first 8 1/2 innings on 7/11 so will just report today’s new action in this report 🤓.

Summary :

Abrahan Gutierrez was the first one up in the start of the 9th … he thus earned the distinction of playing for both teams in one game … Abrahan was a Thresher on 7/11 but was subsequently traded to the Pirates for LHP Braedon Ogle 😳

The Marauders scored the game winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning on a bases loaded hit to the warning track in center field.

On The Hill :

RH Matt Russell - 1 + IP, 1 unearned R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K - 26 pitches - 16 strikes

Game Two - Final Score

Marauders 7, Threshers, 4, 10 innings

Summary

LF Jake Herman’s three-run walk-off homer in B10 gave Bradenton a comeback win. Trailing, 4-2, Bradenton tied the game with two runs in B8. Clearwater’s four runs came in T5 giving the Threshers a 4-2 lead. Three runs came on a home run by Casey Martin.

At Bat (AB-R-H-RBI)

2B Casey Martin, 4-1-1-3, BB, HR (3)

CF Jared Carr, 4-0-2-0, double

DH Felix Reyes, 4-0-2-0

3B Kervin Pichardo, 3-1-1-1, BB

Potter Notes 🤔:

RHP Vince Velasquez was added to the roster on rehab assignment.

The Threshers are a very young club but I must say that there’s been quite a few impressive showings … for example 20 year old Felix Reyes has shown a really powerful and quick bat, both on the back fields and with the Threshers, he’s a big fella at 6’4”195 … from this viewer’s perspective there’s an upside that can’t go unnoticed. Nineteen year old Kervin Pichardo also has impressed, both young hitters show no fear or intimidation.

Catcher Nick Matera was excellent in guiding the young Threshers hurlers in both pitch selection and receiving.
