8/21/25 : Phillies minor leaguers swiping bags at a record setting pace 👀

This year’s Phillies minor league group has four players with 40 or more stolen bases to date and six with 30 or more. The four with 40 or more stolen bases ties the franchise minor league system record (set in 1980 and matched in 1982 and 1983). The single season system record for players with 30 or more stolen bases was set in 1981 with 8 players doing so - this year’s group already has 6 (Aidan Miller -47, Carson DeMartini -44 , Justin Crawford - 41, Bryan Rincon -40 , Oscar Mercado -36 , Dante Nori- 36) with 30 or more and two (Dylan Campbell and Avery Owusu-Asiedu) on the verge with 28 each. In fact Oscar Mercado and Dante Nori are both close to 40 steals with 36 each, if either reaches 40 it will establish a new franchise record for the number of players in a season with 40 or more stolen bases. The high mark for players with 50 or more in a season was set in 1980 at three and matched in 1981, 1982 and 1983 - perhaps that gets matched or broken this season as well!
