WHO LET THE DOGS OUT: The Clearwater Beach Dogs scored the first run of the game in the third inning but fell 10-2 to the Dunedin Blue Jays on Friday night. Gerardo Lopezmade his Single-A debut with 2.0 shutout innings and three strikeouts, and Wilmer Blanco struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth. Dominican Summer League   - Padres Gold 9 (2-1) Phillies 3 (2-1)

Dominican Republic - Playoff Game Three - Padres Complex

The Padres Gold team advances to the DSL playoff semi-finals, the Phillies season is over. It was a great season for the Phillies squad. The change in signing philosophy and going to one DSL team rather than two worked very well for the organization. Quite a few of this year’s DSL players seemed destined for stateside action next year.

Just a clarification - yesterday the Astros Orange team defeated the Padres Gold and if they had played and won against the Angels three teams in the pool would have been 2-1 however the first tie-breaker was best regular season record therefore the Astros Orange/Angels game was cancelled as the Astros Orange squad finished the regular season lower than the Padres Gold. It set up today’s Phillies/Padres Gold game where the winner earned advancement into the semi-finals.

The Padres Gold team won the 2025 DSL championship.
