Binelas Bashes - Alex Binelas, who played for Portland for parts of three seasons (‘22-24), enters play tonight with 25 home runs, which matches a career-high (2022) and has the most home runs in the Eastern League this season. His 25 home runs have all come with Reading and it made him the First Fightin Phil to hit the 25-home run mark since Mitch Walding in 2017. DOUBLE TROUBLE: Brayden Bakes and Nolan Beltran combined to drive in all four ot the Threshers' runs in a 7-4 defeat to the Dunedin Blue Jays on Thursday night. Bakes hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the third while Beltran went 2-3 with two RBIs, two walks and one run scored. How they scored :
The Angels scored twice in the first inning on a single, stolen base, single, sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly.
Both Jose Tovar and Deivas Velasquez were hit by pitches in the bottom of the second, they advanced a base on a wild pitch. Nieves Izaguirre hit a sacrifice fly to score Tovar, Javen Maduro singled to score Velasquez.
The Angels plated three runs in the fifth inning on three walks and a double.
In the bottom of the fifth Javen Maduro was hit by a pitch, Sebastian Saenz walked. Francisco Renteria reached on a fielding error by the Angels third baseman on which Maduro scored. Edwin Ramirez walked. Jose Tovar hit a sacrifice fly to score Saenz. Deivis Velasquez singled to score Renteria.
Elian Adames and Nieves Izaguirre singled in the sixth, Javen Maduro singled to score Adames. Maduro stole second baseman. Francisco Renteria singled to score Izaguirre. Renteria stole second baseman. Edwin Ramirez singled to score two runs.
