Florida Complex League :
The Phillies and Tigers East played two games today ( seven innings each ) at Carpenter Complex beginning at 10 AM. The initial game was a continuation of the 7/19/21 contest that was suspended due to rain, it was picked up in the bottom of the third inning.
Summary : 10 AM start :
Game One - Phillies 13 ( 16-8 ) Tigers East 3 ( 12-21 )
On 7/19 the Phillies had jumped out to a 12-0 lead when the game was suspended in the bottom of the third inning. The initial box score show on today’s Gameday is inaccurate in regards to the lineup and stats attributed to the offense. It overlaid today’s participation rather than adding them as substitutions. Hopefully that gets corrected 🤦♂️.
My notes from 7/19 … Adam Haseley smoked a home run over the right field fence just before play halted. Both he and Hunter Markwardt were in today’s lineup on rehab assignments. RH Dylan Castaneda was dominating on the hill thru three innings for the Phillies allowing just one hit. Best we’ve seen the young 20 year old to date.
In today’s continued action … the Phillies added a run in the fourth inning on a triple by Junior Ortega and single by Anthony Quirion. The Tigers scored a run in the fifth on a home run by Danuerys De La Cruz and two in the sixth inning.

Game Two - Tigers East 3 ( 13-21 ) Phillies 0 ( 16-9 ) - 8 innings
An old fashioned pitchers duel with multiple pitchers as the game was scoreless thru the planned seven innings. It went into extra innings with placed runners beginning each frame at second base.
The Tigers scored in the top of the 8th when the placed runner advanced to third base on a throwing error by catcher Chris Burke. He then scored on a wild pitch by Tyler Adams. A second run scored on a fielding error by third baseman Edgar Made and a third run on a sac fly.
