Stars Shine …
Jean Segura has been a bright light all season as has Rhys Hoskins and over the past couple of months Andrew McCutchen. Now Bryce Harper and JT Realmuto are stepping up to answer the bell … some folks get hung up on the auxiliary players and make no mistake that players like Ronald Torreyes have been invaluable to this club but it’s the stars who will need to carry the team into the playoffs if they get there. The stage is theirs now to shine.
For Starters …
Ranger Suarez was an effective starter in the minor leagues. He had a no hitter while at Williamsport and posted good ERA’s at both Reading and Lehigh Valley in 2018 … the year before he had a 1.59 ERA at Lakewood in 14 starts. He’s always been a cool customer who accepts the roles given to him, there’s no reason to doubt he will do well in the big league rotation. It’s the right move, hopefully at the right time. It’s not just how mgmt. addresses needs but also how players react to roles … this fella has no fear.
