International League ( AAA ) - Rochester 6 (29-33, 63-72) Lehigh Valley 4 (38-26, 74-63)

Rochester, NY - Innovative Field


Summary :


Rochester scored six runs in the second inning on an error, four singles, a double, walk and sac fly.


Matt Kroon and Rafael Marchan singled in the eighth inning, they scored on a double by Esteban Quiroz.


Darick Hall walked in the ninth, Simon Muzziotti doubled.  Matt Kroon singled to score Hall.  Rafael Marchan hit a sac fly to score a run.


On the Hill :


Tyler Phillips went one and two thirds, six runs - three earned, five hits, one walk, three strikeouts.  Jeremy Walker pitched two and a third scoreless frames, no hits, one strikeout.  Brett Schulze went two innings, no runs, one hit, two strikeouts. Connor Brogdon pitched a perfect inning, two strikeouts.  Hector Perez pitched an inning, no runs, one hit, one walk, three strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Matt Kroon had two hits. Esteban Quiroz  and Simon Muzziotti each doubled.

Summary :


Binghamton scored a first inning run on a hit batter, walk and double.


Three singles, a catcher’s interference and sac fly scored two runs for Binghamton in the third.   They scored four runs in the fifth inning on a catcher’s interference, walk, single double and error.


Marcus Lee Sang singled in the sixth, went to second on a balk, to third on a ground out and scored on a sac fly by Carlos De La Cruz.


Binghamton scored a run in the eighth on two doubles.


On the Hill :


Zach Haake went four and a third innings, six runs - four earned, six hits, two walks, one strikeout.  Tristan Garnett pitched two thirds of an inning, one run, one hit, one walk, one strikeout.  McKinley Moore pitched a scoreless inning, one hit, one walk, two strikeouts.  Keylan Killgore pitched two innings, one run, three hits, two strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Marcus Lee Sang has two hits (single & double).

South Atlantic League ( High A ) Playoffs Game One - Jersey Shore 2 Hudson Valley 1 (Jersey Shore leads series 1-0)

Lakewood, NJ - ShoreTown Ballpark


Summary :


Alexander Vargas tripled for Hudson Valley with two outs in the fourth inning, he scored on a single by Rafael Flores.


Hudson Valley loaded the bases in the sixth inning with one out but Matt Russell got a grounder to third baseman Otto Kemp who turned it into a 5-4-3 double play!


Gabriel Rincones Jr reached on an error in the eighth inning, he scored when Caleb Ricketts absolutely spanked a high home run over the right field fence!


Jersey Shore takes a 1-0 series lead in the best of three matchup, game two will be in Hudson Valley on Thursday.


On the Hill :


Christian McGowan was excellent, five innings, one run, three hits, two walks, four strikeouts.  He threw a mid to upper nineties sinker and a hard slider, know the name, he’s a good one 👀.   Matt Russell pitched an inning, no runs, two hits, one walk.  Jack Dallas went an inning and a third, no runs, one hit.  Andrew Walling finished it, one and two third innings, no runs, no hits, two walks, two strikeouts.


At the Bat :


Caleb Ricketts had two hits (single & home run) and two RBIs.  Erick Brito doubled.

Summary :


Zach Arnold and Raylin Heredia singled in the second inning.  Jordan Dissin singled to score Arnold. Ricardo Rosario singled to score Heredia.  Troy Schreffler singled to score Dissin.


Ricardo Rosario singled in the fourth inning, stole second and scored on a single by Troy Schreffler.


William Bergolla reached on a two base error in the eighth inning and scored on a single by Chad Castillo.


Clearwater takes a 1-0 series lead in the best of three matchup, game two will be in Clearwater on Thursday.


On the Hill :


Jean Cabrera was outstanding, six and a third innings, no runs, one hit, two walks, five strikeouts. He went with a sinker (93 to 97 mph), slider and change up and threw a gem.  Nathan Karaffa pitched two thirds of an inning, no runs, one hit, one strikeout.

Erich Uelmen pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.  Hans Crouse finished the shutout, one inning,one walk, one strikeout.


At the Bat :


Jordan Dissin (single & triple), Raylin Heredia, Troy Schreffler and Ricardo Rosario each had two hits.  Schreffler posted two RBIs.  Those four fellas hit in the six thru nine spots in the order, they had eight of the club’s ten hits.
